BEWARE. PLEASE READ BEFORE HIRING. At first everything was great. Tom and his crew were able to clean up the water damage 10/10. The problems began when we agreed to do the basement remodel with Tom. Tom couldn't take five minutes of his time to listen to what we wanted and would become frustrated when I stated what I would like my money to be spent on. I think he has a problem with dealing with a woman/female. First example: It was an ordeal when we wanted a new kind of carpet than what we had before (no problem at all paying more money for better quality carpet!). I picked out the carpet I wanted in our basement from samples provided to me and showed his guy in front of my husband. Somehow, Tom and his crew thought we ordered all laminate flooring for the basement. When the guy showed up for install I asked where's the carpet? This was a problem because they couldn't return the laminate. We ended up paying more for basement flooring than it should have cost because of this ordering mistake. Next example: I asked if we could pay for new doors and installation of the doors. I wanted the remodel to look high quality and for the doors in the basement to match the doors upstairs (which we replaced the year before). Again, we do not mind paying extra for the doors. Tom ordered the doors and when they arrived he sent his guy to come install them. His guy told us he could not install them because the door frames were in such bad condition. He asked us why we did not order door frames with the custom doors? So we asked Tom: Why didn't you order the door frames when you were the one who personally measured for the custom doors and ordered them? He said we did not ask for door frames, we only asked for doors so that's all we get and it is our fault. We have proof of this in a recorded voicemail. Guess how much the custom door frames would have been if ordered with the doors? Up to $500. Guess how much it cost for a contractor to build custom door frames so we did not have to wait two more months? $1500 and two full days of work for a contractor. Yes, we got multiple quotes from our own contractors before moving forward with this. We fired Tom in the middle of the remodel after the door frame incident. There were other small problems but these two just did not sit right with me. DO NOT REMODEL WITH HIM. Other items I wanted to vent about: He never cleaned up. I personally had to remove trash bags from the demo work from our basement. At this moment, there is extra dry wall in the basement that I need my husband to find help to remove. His guys removed the outlet covers and threw them out, but never bought new ones and put them back on - just annoying.
We woke up Christmas morning to 4 of water in our basement. We pumped out what we could on our own but definitely needed a professional to handle the remediation and rebuild. Im not much for leaving reviews but I have to share my experience with Northeast water remediation. Tom showed up at our house to assess the damage within an hour of our phone call. His crew was at our house that afternoon to remove the carpet and cut out the damage drywall. The dehumidifiers and fans were left for a couple of days and the basement sprayed to eliminate any potential for mold. We decided to use Toms crew for the rebuild, as well. Great decision. Within 3 weeks we had an entirely new basement and it looks fantastic! The entire process end to end was seamless, we received the service we requested and everything happened on schedule. Tom is a great communicator. Hes honest, straightforward, listens and strived to make the process easy for us. His crew obviously takes his lead. Theyre hardworking, professional and provide great workmanship. I would recommend Northeast Eater Remediation without hesitation.
Tom and team helped with a MASSIVE flooding issue due to a leaky pipe in the basement of my business. He was on site to assess the situation within 2 hours of the service call. He was very professional, helpful, and did an incredible job.
