I can remember the time when they first opened about a year or so ago. They have 2 levels. I learned that they have a bootcamp every Wednesday of June. In addition, all year long there is a running club, with fun incentives such as trying on new sneakers, and getting a $1 reward for every mile you run. From time to time, there are also promotions, such as clearance and discounts off certain brands.
I went here to purchase an activity tracker and a GPS running watch. However, because of seemingly made up return policies recited by the manager of the store (I visited the store on 6/2/15 @ 2PM) I chose not to buy them. Although there are return policies clearly visible on the register, the manager proceeded to tell me that I could not return the items once I "synced my information in the watches" because the store would not reset and resell them. I informed the manager that the policy she is somewhat referring to is listed in the "specific policy" section of the store's return policy and only apply register, however, the brands I was going to purchase were not included. Nowhere did the policy state that I could not return the items once I synced them with my information. Futhermore, certain item could not be returned to the store but rather the directly to the manufacturer (This is the specific policy). Basically, the managers and staff are misinforming potential customers of the return policy because the store has issues with what to do with returned items. If City Sports has issues reselling returned items (the manager stated that if I returned the item, the store would have to mark it "broken"; Why is this my issue or any customer's for that matter?), the store should write a policy to address the issue such as implement a restocking fee for these times of products or include them in the "specific return policy." It is poor customer service to when a customer asks whether they can return an item and the manager (and all other employees) tell the customer that although the policy doesn't say it, you cannot return the items once you sync your information because City Sports has to mark it broken and cannot reset or resell it. Utlimately, I chose to not spend the 500 bucks I was going to at City Sports and bought the items on Amazon where, if damaged or defective or I am unsatisifed, I could return it without issue. Shout out to the one women sales rep (I'm sorry I didn't get your name) who was patient, helpful with the product info (she helped me select the items and made sure I was happy with them) and povided great customer service. I would have purchased the items if not for the shady interpretation of the return policies by the manager. I will not be shopping here again.
