Only complaint: they are in one of the hottest COVID spots and don't require masks. Staff didn't wear them when we were there, so won't be an option for a while :( Room to park and turn around your truck and trailer which is super nice. They offer saddle fitting and trials which is great for hard-to-fit horses. Prices are average, sales and deals on new stuff are usually in the 10-20% range; but understandable since they have the widest and best selection around. Staff is helpful and friendly. Consignment is hit or miss so you just have to keep an eye out. Can find good deals on used saddles, just depends on what people decide to bring in.
Kris, We are sorry for your experience. Yes, we do have a small amount of merchandise that is marked "As Is" that is with our Sale merchandise upstairs. This is merchandise that is missing a button or something that can be easily repaired that is marked down an extreme amount. It is protocol for our employees to make sure the customer is aware of the fault when checking out. We do have a few new employees and they have since been reminded of our policy. I apologize that you were not informed at the time of purchase. Unfortunately, I believe when you came to return the item that the gal helping you was not able to call management before you left the store. Please don't blame our staff, as they are just trying to do their jobs. If we would have known of the situation, we definitely would have offered you a refund then and there if given the opportunity. Purchased a coat, got it home and noticed that a snap was missing. Went to return and was told it was a clearance item and nothing they could do about it. I didnt know they put clearance in with the regular merchandise let alone put out defective merchandise. Its very small writing on the tag if it is non-refundable. The employee said most people dont realize its written on the tag and they dont usually mention it to the customer. I will no longer shop there. Never had this type of service with Cavenders.
