Hi E Turman - We feel bad that your No-sweat Intro didn't live up to what you had hoped for. There was clearly some confusion about the drop-in policy. Drop-ins are set up for people with a good amount of experience in CrossFit to come in and take some classes while they are in town. For people with no experience with CrossFit, for safety, we do a month onramp intro with you to work closely with the coaches. Not sure which group you fit into, but if I can be of any help to you please don't hesitate to reach out directly on our website contact page. All the emails go directly to me. All the best -Coach Doug

We made an appointment for a Free No-Sweat Intro as stated on the website (see photo), and went by to check out the gym to meet Michael Kastroba. We expected a coach to sit down with us to discuss our goals and receive guidance and advice to get started. The coach appeared rushed to get us out of there as fast as possible and minimally discussed the programming there i.e. CrossFit, Jiu Jitsu, etc. I inquired about a trial class and informed the coach that we had experience with CrossFit and had just moved to the area. The coach stated they didnt have trial classes but was told they only offered 30 day trials for around $150 each. However, the website clearly stated there is a three-class trial for $19.99 as depicted in the photo. I asked him if we could just do a drop in (see photo) and he stated they didnt do drop-ins. However, their website lists one class drop ins, among others. Either the coach was dishonest or didnt know about the trial classes but he should have known. If there are no trial classes so that we can get to know the community to see if its a right fit before making an investment, nor drop-ins allowed, then this should be removed from your website. If I had known, my family wouldnt have wasted our time. Therefore, based on the above, we didnt have a very good experience or first impression.
Thanks Jason! Love having you in the gym. Your knowledge and level of commitment are always welcome.

I highly recommend this gym! Crossfit Manassas / Vanguard Gym is an amazing facility. I travel a lot in my work, and I've been to a dozen or more CF gyms around the country and dozens more "Globo-gyms" all over the world. This is hands-down one of the very best facilities and staff that I've ever had the pleasure of visiting. In addition to having a great gym with a huge amount of both open space and basic equipment (barbells, safety / Rogue racks, plates, etc), they also have lots of specialty equipment not usually available in a CF or Globo-gym (swiss bars, chains, lifting platforms, etc). Finally, Doug (the owner) and his coaches are knowledgable, down-to-earth, and friendly. They recognize that individuals have specific needs to address goals, weaknesses, etc. This is a world-class gym with none of the pretentious, overly-elite attitude found elsewhere. Go to CF Manassas.
This place has changed my life! I worked out here long before I became a Coach and began working at the gym full time. The members make CFM a welcoming, supportive place to go everyday. I can't say enough good things about my fellow coaches and the facility is AMAZING (all the gear you could ever need)! We're not just a gym, we're a community and a true strength & conditioning program.
Jeremy - thank you for the kinds words! We love having you guys join us when you're in town!

We drop-in to CrossFit Manassas when we visit my parents in Haymarket, VA, and it is the best box I have ever visited. Not only do the staff and members welcome you with open arms (which is somewhat expected in CrossFit), but the coaches go the extra step to understand your strengths and weaknesses before the workout to ensure they can do everything in their ability to make you better and get as much value from the workout as possible. The staff's overall love and understanding of CrossFit shines through in the programming and the progressions/scales they provide to their members to ensure the highest quality CrossFit experience possible. In talking to the owner, the rigorous process and the required continuing education the coaching staff is required to maintain is unprecedented which also leads to a better CrossFit experience for both members and visitors. In our last visit, the box lived up to their unofficial name of "PR City" as I PR'ed my bench press - yes they programmed a regular bench press (not floor press) because they have enough racks and benches for the ENTIRE CLASS. Which leads me to another amazing aspect of the box - the equipment. Not only do they have a massive rig in the middle that can accommodate a ton of people, but they also have a dedicated area that has permanent gymnastic mats along the wall giving you a great place to work on handstand progressions or wall walks. Not to mention the massive amount of oly plates and rowers, but rarities at most boxes, but they have an OUTSIDE rig and dedicated stone pit. The use of technology to further the member experience is impressive as well. The staff encourages each member to report and track progress on beyondthewhiteboard, so that measurable results can be achieved. My wife, who is a Level 1 CrossFit Trainer at our home gym, said after our last visit, if we moved out of PA, we should consider the Manassas area just so she can coach and train at this facility. If you are visiting or considering trying CrossFit you cannot go wrong with starting at CrossFit Manassas.
