First job fresh out of welding school and was very excited until I saw the horror's of what they called "welding" They are using poor practices when it comes to cutting portions of the van so it can be modified. You mark a square( 2"x2") someone will cut it out 2.5" all around leaving a huge gap to fill. Then you would grab the corresponding piece to fill the gap but now you have an extra amount of space to fill to. The solution for that is called long-arching, in welding that's a no no. You can do it but ,for something like a car that experience stresses and loads all the time you might want to engineer a better way to achieve the goal. Any young welder out there, stay away from the production line. If you are luck to get a spot on the TIG part production area, that might be better suited for you.
The worst company I have ever worked for. They mistreat employees and dont side with the truth. Very abusive work environment! Supervisors constantly yelling hurry up impending quality of work. Employee fights constantly breaking out and no reprimands. Very unprofessional environment. Numerous meetings with axel department about not using torque wrenches and stripped bolts . These vans are unsafe and company is in complete disarray
What a horrible company to work for. I've never been treated with such disrespect by a supervisor and when brought forward to upper management was told "oh well". Do not work or buy any products from this joke of a company.
