It's too bad you have No Knowledge of Automobiles . I 'm not in the business of giving people Approximate anything over the Phone . By your own admission All you Knew was you had a cylinder misfire . There could be several things that Cause a Misfire . So how can I give an estimate if you don't know what you need . The correct way to know is by having the vehicle properly Diagnosed which of you don't want to do. By the way I won't Repair or discuss anything to do with an individual about there vehicle unless they are the Owner . By your Own Admission you confirmed you weren't the Owner. It's Noble that you want to help your Daughter with her vehicle Repair. I will share how most of the Parents do it who send there Kids here to get there vehicles fixed . They Pay for the Bill and trust in my Workmanship! I don't discuss anything About peoples vehicles unless I have all the facts . I tell people the Truth even if they don't want to here it . That is why we have been in business for Fifty years. I suggest you Stop living in that Fantasy world of yours and accept the fact you completely Misinterpreted This conversation . I feel sorry for your Daughter who unfortunately Doesn't have a very Smart Dad !!!!

Note: I did NOT use this business so can not speak for workmanship, value, etc...what I can speak for is the fact I am amazed this person has been in business since '72 speaking to clients on the phone as he does. I called him based on excellent previous reviews, to inquire about a misfiring cylinder in my daughters Mercedes C class. I made a general inquiry of approximate cost ( I figured he would quote a tune up and possibly new spark plugs). Instead he bluntly asked " What part do I need to replace?" -- I paused and said I was unsure -- he then condescendingly replied "well there you go... when you can tell me what part you need replaced I can give you a price"...At that point he began to lecture me on how I had to make an appointment and had no availability at this time. He also threw in how only the registered owner of the vehicle was allowed to speak with him when I mentioned to him I was calling for my daughter, a student at USF. Sir, It is time to retire when you speak to potential clients as if they are 14 years old. You clearly are burned out. Maybe hire a receptionist with professional phone etiquette and you keep to working on cars.
Was worst ever had my Porsche 928 / 1980 for 5 months and gave it back to me in pics??? Even charged me 500.00 and 5 months no car and givin back with no stearing collar
Jerry reminded me a lot of my uncle, a mechanic who knows his stuff. He fixed a problem on my car that the dealer tried to fix twice before giving up and he fixed it in less than an hour. My car runs like it was bought brand new. He contacted me several times during the repair to keep me updated. He had found an issue with the car that couldn't have possibly been found until the engine was apart, and offered to fix it at the original labor quote, which was above and beyond expectation of a mechanic, but then he also offered to fix the sensor for the original labor quote too. He loves what he does and it shows in his work. I couldn't recommend this mechanic more. He does quality work.
Thank you Jerry and the crew of South Florida Auto Repair! Before I sold my Xterra you were my mechanic of choice the 4 years after my dealership warranty expired. When I bought my new MINI Cooper I decided to bypass the dealership and come to you for maintenance. Also, I thank you for your body work recommendation after my freak accident with the parking garage hydraulic barrier. Gene Perez Body Repair did a wonderful job and provided excellent service. I got The Coop back yesterday. Ready for the Wiregrass car show!
