I called to ask some simple questions and was treated very poorly on the phone. The employee told me to go look on the internet and then call back once I knew more about it. I will purchase my steel products elsewhere.
A business that keeps the door to its lobby locked? A doorbell and a 3 to 5 min wait just to see a salesperson? Entire front row of parking lot reserved for employees? Wow. Inefficient phone communications cost me a special trip to this fortress. Wow. Recommend? NOT
I am a low volume steel consumer. I have purchased various types of steel and have also had them do some precision cutting on their water jet. I have always had good service, reasonable prices, and good support from MLS Metals. They deliver what they promise when they promise it. Cant ask for more than that.
Response to Mr. Goldsmith.B I realize it has been a while since this occurred but I do remember this phone call distinctly. While you feel that my direction to the internet was poor treatment we are not a structural engineering firm, nor do we have an engineer on staff. If LMS were to give advice on a beam and whether or not it would work in an application and it did not work we would be liable for that incorrect advice, hence the redirection to the internet for load tables for structural beams. Very few steel sellers have engineers on staff and will similarly redirect to the internet or suggestions of contacting an engineering firm. If you hadn't hung on me mid-sentence I would have explained all of this to you. What you consider simple questions are not simply answered. Brent Bourland - Operations Manager LMS Metal Sales
Asked a simple question if they had a certain type of metal in stock and was very rudely spoken to over the phone. Whoever answers their phone needs to take a class in simple phone etiquette.
