No matter what period of time you subscribe for, they will continue delivering papers well after the paid period ends without notifying you that the subscription has lapsed. Then they will turn around and bill you for papers you never asked for at very high rates, and use this "balance due" as leverage to get you to renew your subscription. I went along with this for years and finally decided not to play anymore. I would highly recommend never subscribing at all.

Predatory subscription. Cancelled service and payed in full. Now being called by collections for no apparent reason for an outstanding balance. I live in an apartment and never received a single newspaper
