Here at Hartmanns we dont do tight, we do shaped; we offer a range of loose to fitted suits, but the preferences must be communicated and the customer has to be knowledgeable. We respect the customers wishes, but this respect goes both ways. Over 60 years as a self-employed tailor has given me a lot of experience, which I am happy to share with my clients.

Hartmanns is stuck in his design ways. I asked for a more modern, athletic fit, but he refused to go as "tight" as I wanted. He insisted that his suits needs the room for me to sit and move so the fabric doesn't tear, so he kept it looser than I wanted. But if other tailors can figure out how to fit it tightly without damaging the fabric, then so should he. I'm not sure if the issue is about loyalty to a style or he just didn't want to listen to me. In any case, I could have been a repeat customer, but I'll never go back to him.

Terrible tailor - even WORSE customer service. I had a suit tailored by Siegfried Hartmann about a week ago. Not only did he do a poor job of tailoring it he actually made it fit much much worse! I basically paid $150 to have him ruin my suit. At first i wasn't upset... usually it takes a couple tries to get a tailored suit to fit just how you like it. Apparently Siegfried disagreed. When i brought it back in and asked him to fix his mistakes he not only refused to do it. He got violently angry and berated me for not telling him "EXACTLY" what i wanted the first time around (which i did). He continued to call me a prick, and bragged about being a millionaire. There are SO many good tailors in Bellevue (in fact he's got one on each side of him) and it can be a great experience. Just not here.. with rude people who try to intimidate you into accepting their poor workmanship. Now I'm ending up having to pay a different tailor again to fix all his mistakes. I wish i could give zero stars. DO NOT GO HERE!
