The care in the ER other than the physicians was substandard. My wife is a nurse, I am a retired surgeon. She was not impressed. When she came into the ER room, she found me in my ice cold pajamas from extreme diaphoresis. Nobody put a gown on me. The IV bag was dry for many hours. She told nurses twice. Never added a new one. I went to CT and returned. Nobody put me back on the monitor. Nobody came in the room. My wife had to reattach me to the monitor. Didn't anyone notice the patient was off the monitor? No call bell near me if I needed help before my wife arrived. When I went to the floor, no meals. They said they would get me a dinner, never happened. Same with breakfast, they brought clear liquids again, which I had for supper and they said they would change it, and it never happened. We as medical professionals found the treatment very poor. Everyone should go to Candler with a patient advocate and not alone!
I have stayed in the past at this facility numerous times and I was so disappointed in my last day that was my worst experience ever at candler mainly from the nurses care and I was told numerous times after I had to wait that it was due to a shortage of nurses of course me being a patient I didn't want to hear the excuses I was just expected better treatment
