This is a well meaning institution with the capability to do a lot of good, but the amount of good it can do is severely undermined by the behavior of specific staff members, most notably Ms. Denise. She has a reputation with the residents of going out of her way to provoke discharges and causing needless antagonism, to the point of causing an autistic resident to have an extreme panic attack. She escalated this panic attack by being physically and verbally aggressive and discharged the resident for panicking, calling in paramedics to hospitalize and conduct a psych evaluation on the mentally ill adolescent whose breakdown she escalatedseemingly deliberately. The shelters mission of providing help to disadvantaged and homeless minority youth is not achievable with a staff member like this in their employ, as any good they do could just as easily be undone. She is at best, ableist, and at worst, malicious. Residents should never fear being made homeless again because of antagonistic staff members, and as such I cannot give a positive review.
Although this is a safe place for the youth.. Some of the staff are rude. Its really really easy to get discharged. They really only help people with children to get FAST housing. They have no medical staff available after 3pm. And the bathrooms are DIRTY !!
I've went to the covenant house in my youth it is very great stepping stool for young adult that need help housing and with that comfort can help them get jobs school and further in life
