The company itself is fine, provides a good product, but it's easy to find comparable products at lower price points in the area. Additionally, Ian should take some customer service courses or something. There is absolutely no need to talk down to a client just because they ask clarifying questions about their order. If you love being condescended to about plastics, Ian is your man.
(edited) I always feel guilty when I write a bad review so here's another that's more factual with less commentary and frustration. So here it is: You'll get what you paid for, just -- in my experience-- if you don't double check the measurements of the material they give you when you pick it up, expect to have to drive all the way back in order to get the correct measurements. One time I had to go back twice because the original pieces were cut wrong, and then the correction pieces were cut wrong. Both times they gave me free plexi for my trouble, but the second time I went back, they joked "you're just back for more free plexi, arent you ha ha ha ha." Which I know was a joke, but it was already awkward and I already (for some reason) felt guilty and bad for them that someone kept screwing up my order... because I don't want to get anyone in trouble-- and I know somebody is getting in trouble if they mess up an order and have to give someone free plexi... nothing's free so its coming out of someone's paycheck... and that makes me feel really guilty!! but I do need the correct measurements because all my blueprints and sketches are based off the idea that I was going to be able to get pieces with the measurements I had planned for. But that was a while ago. It was just frusturating because it was like they were implying that I wanted them to screw up my order, when the reality was that I really wished that I had just gotten what I ordered the first time around. I don't need free plexi-- in fact I still have the free plexi they gave me since it's this bright yellow color that I've never found the inspiration to use. Also they're really far away from where I'm at, so it's kind of a big deal for me to go up there... I dunno-- that comment just made me feel really slimy... I know it was a joke but anyway... The reason why I am writing this review now is that the order that I picked up a week ago again had an error in measurement. I had neglected to double check the dimensions before using a saw to cut the plexi, so I only found out when I began welding my project together... Gosh-- how frusturating!! So then I called them and they apologized and told me to come back so they could trade the pieces out-- but I told them that I had already cut it so I asked them if I could just send them a photo with a ruler proving the piece was the wrong measurements and if they could just adjust my order price. They agreed and so I did and they presumably adjusted the charge on my credit card (I haven't checked to make sure yet but I'm sure they probably did). After that I started thinking about how irritating it is that now my measurements are all wonky on my project now, so I wrote an impassioned review expressing my frustrations. I always feel badly when I write a bad review because reviews really do have real world implications... So here's a revised review that's a little less heated. I'm writing this to let other people know that it's probably best to double check the measurements before you drive off. And definitely before you start cutting the material. And also to let this business know that they maybe need to start being more careful when measuring things. Honestly, I screw up measuring things all the time in my work-- so I totally get it. I always check like 5 times when measuring things; I know that's unrealistic for ya'll since you guys probably have to cut and fill like a 100 orders a day-- so I can totally see how mis-measuring things could become a common problem. Or maybe it's not a common problem and I'm just unlucky! I hope this review isn't gonna get anyone in trouble-- I just think it's something ya'll need to work on. Take care.
Chaese saved our home porch project. We had a terrible time finding roofing materials and he not only guided me through exactly what I needed, but provided incredible customer service the whole time. Thanks for making this part of a very challanging project so easy!
I have used Regal Plastics in Austin for many years and have always gotten my order in a timely manner and correct. their prices are very reasonable and they have many services to offer the customer such as: CNC cutting, Laser etching, custom fabrication to go with the many products they carry. I will continue to use Regal Plastic and will tell all my friends and collegues to use them.
Retail lobby is closed but it does not say that anywhere on the web page. Called from In front of store to try to purchase products; their inventory computers dont function. So they can barely tell me if they have anything in stock. And they dont have simple supplies like GatorFoam (listed on their web page) in stock. This was a wasted trip. Best to shop elsewhere.
