Hi Kieran, As you are aware a full explanation to the above situation has now been given explaining that due to the Covid-19 pandemic and misunderstandings related to a change over of management teams we were not aware of your initial requests for a refund. Anyway, a full refund has now been issued which we would hope has resolved this situation. Me and my buddy had booked up to a two night course with them before covid had happened but it had been cancelled for obvious reasons. When we asked for our money back the only response we got from them was a short and open ended answer of "no we cant due to circumstances". Wouldve had no problem if we didn't then ask again if they could expand on this reason only to be met with almost the exact same response and refusing to go into further? Couple of months goes by and they send out the rescheduled dates which we can't do due to work commitments so naturally just asked for our money back again in the hope that maybe this has been enough time to help with whatever the issues might have been. We were met again with almost the exact same response but now they have changed management and promised them they would honour everyone who had a spot booked prior. Now we have to go down the whole path of going through the credit card company for a refund of over 300 pounds due to the fact we never actually got anything for our money. Most of this couldve been avoided if they had just been a little more responsive and gave us legitimate reasons instead of being short and abrupt with us.

You absolutely must do this course!! It is excellent, great value and you gain so many skills and knowledge, it will totally boost your confidence and moral. I did the three day survival course with my friend. This involved two nights sleeping in improvised shelters, learning and up-skilling lots of knowledge such as natural navigation, water filtration/purification, fire lighting, survival techniques, and so much more. A huge shout out to the fantastic staff members who made this trip for us, especially Abi and Graham who particularly stood out to us and were wealths of knowledge. We never felt talked down to or stupid and all questions were answered thoroughly and thoughtfully. The course is very well thought out, you can tell it was very well planned, with a perfect amount of learning and practise. Youre not coddled which we appreciated and really left to your own devices and left alone in the wild so really puts the knowledge youre taught to the test! It is a resilience and mental battle above all else too and really pushes you to your limit. We gained an astounding amount of info which was incredible as I learned things I didnt think I ever would. This was not too overwhelming though, and the team are really good at welcoming you to contact them post course if you have any questions and provide you with lots of notes/documents so you can document and consolidate your learning. Dont question if you should do this course or not - just do it!!

I have had a superb experience with Backcountry Survival. The instructors have a tremendous amount of knowledge and experience. Next to that they are very cool guys! The trip from the Netherlands was well worth it, i can recommend Backcountry survival to everyone who wants to have a unforgetable experience!

Fantastic experience on the three day survival course. Would strongly recommend for anyone who has an interest in the outdoors - bucket load of fun with the a team of instructors who really know their stuff and can't do enough to help out and share their knowledge! Will be back again!
