I have been dealing with LSM for years. I have bought numerous items from them and have had my machines and equipment serviced here as well. I have a commercial Toro lawn mower that my son brought in for service. The lady that checked in my machine never charged nor gave him a receipt all she told him that we would get a call later that week. After the machine being in the shop for 2 weeks and finally being looked at they gave me a price for how much it would be. I let them know that not to fix it since it's a 7 year old mower. They told me I owed them x amount and I said ok. My son picked it up and we paid for their check of the mower but then when I got home I seen the machine was returned to me all taken apart and parts in bags. I have been a long time customer and you just lost me as a customer.
This was my first and would be my last visit to this place. I dropped off my mower that was not starting. I paid a deposit of $42.50 plus $3.51 tax for a total of $46.01. 4 days later Daniel called me and told me it will cost a total of $66 so I told him to go ahead and fix it. 4 days later I went to pick up my mower and was charged another $65.05 bringing total paid to $111.06 not $66 as was promised. The invoice included $12.95 for blade sharpening which was not requested by me since the mower was relatively new and was used only a few times. Another issue was the supposedly new carburettor that was put in, yet I was charged for carburettor repair of $52.95 in addition to the inflated unit price itself ( looked up the prices on various websites and saw that it is at least 100% marked up) Finally, while they charged me tax on the deposit, the tax on the final invoice did not reflect that collected tax to be reported to Uncle Sam. Very bad practice noticed by someone who is in the accounting and tax auditing business. According to their policy on the receipt, If I have declined the repairs they would have not only taken my deposit but also charge me to reassemble the unit back. How is that as a policy to almost force the customer to go ahead with the repairs. Not fair!
Took mower here because of low Idle. Im short, they wanted to charge me over $250 to service it. I declined. Paid $8 for carburetor cleaner, $12 for oil and did it myself. Now it runs like the day I first bought the mower. They wanted to replace parts that were brand new already. Felt like a car mechanic taking advantage of someone. Wont be back.
