I am an Audio Engineer with 20 plus years of experience as an Audio Engineer. I have built recording studios and was in charge of the placement of Diffusors; Absorbers; Bass Traps; Acoustic design; Placement; Installation and equipment. I also have a license in CNC Machining and Safety Ive built kitchen cabinets and had several woodworking jobs. I even designed my own soundproofing absorbers. In the music business Ive worked with Grammy winners nominees and more. I have a profile on LinkedIn with over 3700 connections and endorsements from various reputable people in the industry. Oscar winners in Audio Engineering and more... Business has been slow and I saw that GIK Acoustics was hiring. So I applied. Their ad on indeed claimed that they pay $14.00 to $16.00 An hour. The position was customer service. Which I also have 20 years in I came for an interview and I was hoping my experience would help me land a job here. I figured I would be a great asset. Shortly into the interview I heard the owner mumble and insinuate that my demand of $14-$16 an hour was too high even though thats what they offered in their ad Then they went on to start to try to school me on their pay structure and raises etc. They told me they needed to hire someone that day. The Owners brother offended me as well. He stated that while my resume was impressive. Its the work that talks not whats on paper. I felt offended. How dare you sneak diss me and try to throw subtle shade at me when you have never seen me work?! Never even gave me a chance. I rebuilt car engines and refinished them. Are you kidding me?! The place was a typical small factory and people were working shoulder to shoulder with zero actual social distancing I would like to note that I Am half Middle Eastern but I look White. I grew up around black people and spent a lot of time around Black People. My Stepfather was Black and I have four Black Sisters. I dont know what happened why they didnt call me but I believe I wasnt hired because I dont sound White Enough And also because I figure they felt I was overqualified which to me is a cop out for discrimination. I am 41 years old so that may have been a factor. They also implied they were replacing an employee thats why they listed the ad. My impression of the overall experience was that it just didnt feel right afterwards and I feel its just immoral. If you didnt want to hire me. Be grown. Be mature and just tell me right then and there. Dont be sneaky and lie and tell me youre going to call me and then leave me waiting for nothing. That in itself is unprofessional. They wasted my time. These type of experiences make me not even want to look for work. Im from Chicago and Im learning that Employers in Georgia are scam artists. Ive been lied to; offered non live-able wages. And flat out discriminated against. The rent in Atlanta is not much different than Chicago. The cost of living is almost the same. But minimum wage in Chicago is 13.00 an hour and in Georgia its below the federal minimum at 5.15. The federal minimum is 7.25 most companies in GA are cheap and only offer 9.00 an hour even if you have a vast amount of experience. Plus they want to give you only 12 hours a week average of work. I regret traveling an hour to this interview. I feel it was a waste of time. I could have done something much more productive like make a beat; record a track or edit a couple videos I have a whole recording studio at home. After this experience I will not be buying anything from GIK Acoustics. Above all this. They seemed pretty arrogant to me And thats not something any person would want to deal with. I took one look at their products and think maybe I should start making my own absorbers and diffusors. I know with my experience and background In engineering CNC Machining Metalworking Engine rebuilding and all my time in factories plus my understanding of acoustic theory I can definitely make a better quality product with tighter tolerances.

I dont believe the 5 star reviews. I ordered my panels in March 2021 didnt receive them until June 3 2021 . The panels werent a special or custom made order nothing spectacular but it cost me money to keep my studio closed because they lied saying my order would get here by May 19 . They gave me a refund of $95.00 then told me by the week after it should be here , my stuff didnt get here completely until June 3 . Asia lied and said that she was going to help get a partial refund for our order but I was settling for 200$ but I didnt even get that I got a total of $128.00 . Keeping my business closed cost me more that that . Its not worth the wait of stress Im pretty sure there better companies with better prices that know how to conduct business and not lie to there customers. The general manager Christina wasnt any help she lied as well and try to beat around the bush about the refund . Im sending the panels back and going to Acoustimac what I ordered will be $250 cheaper and They are rated A+ in the BBB 100% guaranteed they have more reviews and better rating.
I have been buying audio treatment from GIK for my studio since I first did my first research about treating a room properly. Their products are top-notch and have made all the difference in advancing my sound. I also want to shout-out James specifically for giving me expert advice on where to place the audio treatments and which ones are most important, he has been super helpful over the years and continues to give me great advice. 5 stars for GIK!
I understand this issue has been resolved with our customer service manager. We'll continue to strive for excellence in customer service, and I appreciate you reaching out. Feel free to call me personally if you want to discuss anything further. Thank you, Geoff Heilhecker - CEO

Wow, extremely poor communication and service... I purchased over $2500 in product from them in Feb and as of the end of April, still don't have a ship date. I called up a week ago and asked again the delivery time and was told they would call me and update me in 2 days. No call, no update. When I called again to get an update, I was told a further date out again! I told them that this is not acceptable as they're to be used in an office and business has been on stand still waiting on them. Asked for some assistance and none was given. Decided to cancel the order and the rep did not hesitate to cancel the order (which if they were ready to be shipped a rep would try to keep the order). Would not recommend and would not ever use again.
