This is my families second time having to stay at RMH because my 1 yr old daughter is a liver transplant patient and the desk lady is absolutely horrible. Her attitude is the worst and she does not know how to speak or treat people. Ive had a run in with her that the director called me personally about and apologized figured that would be the end of confrontation with this lady however we had to come back a second time and this time I intentionally stayed at the hospital from 830 until about 1030-11 at night so my other 2kids (2yrs of age and 5yrs of age) arent a distraction to anyone we have been here less than a week and probably only stayed here this time about 4 nights and I come in to a letter saying my kids refusal to wear a mask (never had this convo with intone bc we go straight to our room upon entry and leave out early morning) is going to result in a final warning and will get us kicked off the premises, when I brought the packet to the lady and asked her what its about she didnt want to talk to me about it and said the letter says what it is about and any questions take it up with kp I calmly told her this letter is a misrepresentation of our stay here and that I always have a mask on. ( my 2 year old wont keep his on bc it falls off his face and my 5 year old goes straight to our room when we get here and leaves directly out in the morning with me) she says well you can say that (in disbelief) honestly this lady does not need to representation for this establishment because she places a stain on whats supposed to be a great non profit organization. This rate is solely based on this lady and her attitude/ treatment of my family.

Good Morning, We truly appreciate your feedback, thank you! We know our rooms are not what they should be. This House was built almost 40 years ago and we simply don't have the space to be able to accommodate as many families that need a place to stay. At the beginning of 2020 we started a Capital Campaign to build a new House! It will allow for 53 bedrooms and all of them will include a private bathroom and 2 queen size beds. Our goal is to make sure our families have everything they need to make sure they can focus on the recovery of our child and we know a comfortable place to rest is part of that. Our campaign was put on hold due to covid, but we have not lost sight of our goal. We'd love to talk with you more about your thoughts and recommendations as we plan the new build. We didnt actually stay, but weve been to 3 or 4 RMH as my daughter has multiple out of state doctors and this was the worst one weve dealt with. I wish they would have told us that the rooms are so small, I guess we were just spoiled with the small, but comfortable rooms at the other places because we were shocked when they told us they assigned us the biggest room that had 2 small twin beds in it with barely enough room to walk between them. My husband is 62 and we are a family of 4, there was absolutely no way we could sleep there without people on the floor. They have no cots either, which all the other houses had. Youd think with the small rooms, cots would be something available. Then all the rules! Yes, its a place for sick children, but does that mean sick children dont like to play or laugh or be happy?? I mean, its a place for CHILDREN and theyre being treated like be seen, not heard. It was very discouraging. We ended going to Walmart to buy sleeping bags and realized wed end up spending more getting all that than if we rented a hotel room with adequate space. I do appreciate RMH and theyve been an amazing organization to help us when we needed it, but this one should have been designed better and the staff needs retraining to be considerate, sympathetic and empathetic.

They only have 32 rooms and they only make the decision on that day. Have a very sick child. As a single mother holding down 2 jobs and from out of town - I have no family down there and have to leave him down in the hospital for up to 3 weeks and cannot afford a hotel. It says they are open 24 hrs but all I got was a machine.
