Let me preface this with a bit about me. I am a certified instructor with nearly ten seasons experience teaching in Utah and abroad. Im very skeptical about The Sport Loft. Most clients Ive worked with who have bought boots here end up in K2 Spyres or Spynes, a boot that usually runs about 300-600 dollars. However the usual price tag associated with theirs is 1300 dollars plus. Now, granted they have usually done a custom liner or some sort of boot work to them but this is where I get really skeptical. Somehow every client has told me that they have this one issue that somehow can only be solved by a very expensive custom fit by these guys. After noticing this a colleague and I went in for a fitting, and sure enough I was told we have similar issues and require boot work only they can do (Ive a very small narrow foot and my colleague has a wide foot with a high arch). We were both put in K2 Spyre/Spynes and they wanted over 1500 bucks a piece. I find this to be a worrying trend. I personally use a boot fitter in Park City who has kept my feet happy for years now. They are efficient and provide great service, although I do have to drink my water out of a paper cup not a small bottle; I just dont feel like paying 800 bucks for a bottle of water :) Thats my experience and I feel as though its worth putting out there so people can be as informed as possible. If your looking to be smoozed, these guys can smooze. If your looking for a good fitting ski boot with a professional boot fitter without the massive up-charge I suggest shopping around and being aware of your options, it never hurts to talk to a few shops to see whats available and be a more educated buyer. If these guys offer what you want and you dont feel like the price tag is above what your willing to pay for it, then great! Go for it. But, be aware of your options and aware of your own feet, sometimes its better to shop around and find consensus on what you need, and somewhere like SLC/Park City there are many many qualified boot fitters to talk too.

Earl and Jeremy are very thorough. Earl puts doing the best thing ahead of what is fastest. I have messed up feet and he took a lot of time to explain what I needed. I would recommend these guys to anyone. If you are going to spend the money to get a quality setup, get the best fitting you can. These guys can do it.

I highly recommend the Sport Loft! I was having pretty bad foot pain from tailor's bunions, so much so that I didn't want to ski. Derek was really helpful in explaining the options with my boots, never pressuring or upselling and answering all my questions. They then custom fit my ski boots so now there's room for my crazy feet, plus fixed a problem with the liners from when I'd had them fit at another store (should have gone to the Sport Loft to start with). The team also expanded my snowboard boots to deal with the same issues. I've now skiied and toured in the boots with no bunion pain - game changer. Everyone at the store was incredibly nice and the customer service was great. I 100% recommend going here.

The Sport Loft has long held a terrific reputation for selling high-end, quality ski gear, and was, supposedly, the very best at fitting boots. However, my last encounter with the store was very different. I found them to be very difficult. I bought the boots they recommended, and asked for injected linings. They insisted that the factory foam linings would be better. They charged a lot more for complicated fittings, and, despite many trips back to the store, found that they were short in temperment, and could never get it right. Finally, i took it to an injecting specialty store, which questioned the work done by the Sport Loft, injected the boots, and got it right the first time. When i called the store to tell them that i had a bad experience, they wanted to know what they could do to "make it right," but when they found that i didn't want anything, terminated the call, post haste and acted like they were happy to be done with me.
