I am unfortunately currently staying at this hotelresort is a misnomer. I would BEWARE of this hotel for a number of reasons: 1. The hotel rates change without prior knowledge. Our hotel rates increased by nearly 30% and we were only notified after we recognized the excessive charges on our American Express 2. The hotel service is next to non-existent. While calling from the room, We spent 18 minutes on hold for the front desk this morning as we waited to ask for another towel. 3. The hotel only provided one full-bath towel in the room and as discussed before, it took over 30 minutes for the hotel staff to deliver another. 4. The elevators are slow and have broken displays in the upper right corner. I am not sure how such a facility was awarded four stars. I have been coming to Newport Beach every two months for 5 years and I have yet to have a worse lodging experience. I can certainly assure you that this will be my last stay at the Balboa Bay Motel. Do yourself a favor and stay at the Ritz down the road at least they charge you fairly and treat you well.

My friend brought expensive white wine аs a present to me on our day when we checked in to the Hotel. We left an unopened bottle in the fridge in our room #2204 when we checked out next day. I called the hotel the same day in the evening and asked to go to room and pick up a bottle from refrigerator, so that I could drive up and pick it up from the hotel. The front desk representative promised to me to do this and then to call me back with the information. Nobody called me. I called again a day later and again representative of front desk promised to call me back with an answer. Nobody called to me! I drove up to the hotel on Saturday, October 8, 2022 and again asked front desk representative to check the refrigerator in room#2204. I was told that they would not do this! I am very upset that they did not help me to get back my friend's gift!

Positive: I was very happy with the staff at the front desk. Our check- in & -out & in between all went well. Also, the resort has a large & well maintained pool that I enjoyed very much.

Establishment falsified video surveillance of one the workers scratching herself. Will not take accountability and videos surfaced on TikTok of DeeDee putting her hands inside her panty area and that is just very disgusting. I will not stop leaving feedback, I will continue spread awareness about how Balboa Bay and their staff :)
