I was looking for a salon near my work and found Merrill was close and had great reviews. I even found a groupon for a $36 cut and conditioning treatment, so I purchased it and made an appointment. I arrived a few minutes before the appointment and stood waiting to be greeted for about five minutes. The front receptionist was most likely on lunch, but the other two stylists didn't bother to say hello. Not a huge deal usually, but things just got worse from there. Once I was finally checked in, I waited about 30 minutes before sitting in Sara's chair, which was disappointing because I planned the haircut over my lunch hour from work. Still, I gave her the benefit of the doubt since appointments tend to run behind often, and she seemed friendly. Once seated, I showed Sara some photos of simple 'bobs' I was looking to emulate. She asked me some questions and I answered them as best I could, referring back to the photos as a reference. In my mind, a bob haircut is simple, one length evenly around, maybe a few layers hidden just to add volume. The cut I received was DISASTROUS. Random CHUNKS of my hair were cut off with no rhyme or reason, whatsoever. I came out with a completely layered haircut, and the sides of my hair were all different lengths. To top it off, Sara was having an allergic reaction at the beginning of my appointment and seemed extremely distracted by her itching eyes. This didn't seem like that big of a deal at the time, but then things got worse. In the middle of cutting my hair, her ex showed up and she left me in the chair to go outside to talk with him. Not only was she 30 minutes late, but she left in the middle of cutting my hair to take care of a personal matter. Yes, I am not cold hearted, but unless it's a complete emergency, why can't this wait till in between appointments? Or even till after she's done with the scissors!? I'm not sure if she forgot what her end goal was for my haircut, but man did she BUTCHER it. Just for reference, I am a low key, low maintenance gal that has very low expectations for hair cuts. This was not just trimming off an inch too much, this was a complete mess up. I ended up having another stylist at a different salon fix the cut two days later, and was informed that because so much length was caught off there wasn't much they could do to fix it... They blended the choppy layers, and made my ends all one length, but my only option is to wait for my hair to grow out. I had originally planned on going back to have Sara fix it, but couldn't get in until 5 days after the original appointment due to my own schedule and Sara's availability. When the salon called to confirm the appointment a day before hand, I cancelled and proceeded to tell them what had happened. I told the receptionist (Michelle or Melissa, I think), what had happened and that my experience was terrible. She informed me this wasn't the first complaint they've received for Sara, and that she would inform the owner. I figured I'd receive a phone call offering an apology, but I never heard from the salon after that. Not only did they ruin my hair, but then they never reached out to see if they could right their wrong. Poor skills, poor customer service. Worst haircut I've ever received. I cannot recommend Merrill Hair Designers.

This place is an absolute rip off. They promise you one thing and try to go around it to add additional services to charge you more. Avoid it at all costs. If there was negative rating, I would give it to this place.

Mindy is wonderful superb quality and pedicures manicures and hugs. She files the feet she cleans the nails all the way around and get your heels nice and smooth. And the lotions they use are top quality.. the nail polish is superb it does not chip off will last for 2 months until your next pedicure

When I sat down in the chair I had warned my stylist I had fresh facial peircings and to please be careful with them, about half way through the cut her comb got hooked on it and she proceeded to yank on it, she also cut my ear and neck on multiple occasions with the trimmers, I work in a salon and I was there cuz I couldn't get it in my own salon HUGE MISTAKE! Thank you for a piercing infection, 100% NOT a $45 hair cut.
