BMC offices don't talk to each other. I had a minor irritation in my mouth, and started with a general practitioner, who referred me to the ENT department. The ENT department refused to pull the records from my visit to the GP, and wanted a second consultation visit before performing the service the GP recommended. In all, to have this very minor irritation in my mouth addressed, I would have to do at least 3 visits to BMC. You can just hear the fat cats there getting richer. Not only that-- they were asking me to take a covid test, and were planning to charge me for it, even though *by law* covid testing is free. BMC also won't tell you what a medical procedure costs. The receptionists can't answer basic questions about billing, and at one point, I was actually told that in order to find out how much my visit would cost, I would have to go through with the visit-- in other words, I have to buy the visit and they will tell me how much it will cost later. That's morally reprehensible and serves as an example of how broken our medical system actually is.
