Couple times that I have gone to get food, it is all expired and most of the produce is bad (rotten). Also got food that had been recalled. I really wish they would think better of feeding the needy instead of giving them bad food.

Im really appreciative of what you do and for the food we can get every week. But I decided to share pictures today because it is not the first time it has happened to me that I get some staff that is uneatable because its already gone bad or has molding like in this case I got the delicious artesano bread but it is all green .. I wish the people that is handling four just realize when something is not good. Again thank you so much for all you do but it is happening to often and that is why I am posting this coment.

Feeding Tampa Bay is a nonprofit organization, and we operate primarily on donations from local farmers, grocery stores, and distribution centers. Due to the pandemic, inflation, and supply chain shortages, our donors are seeing a decrease in staple items and therefore are not able to donate items and quantities we were receiving pre-pandemic. Essentially, this means we are at the mercy of our donors and what we have to offer in our warehouse is what we give out to the community. Please note these items and quantities will vary each week. Very disappointed...I spent 1 hr driving to this food giveaway ..waiting in line and barely had gas to get home..but i needed the food so I was thankful they were holding this event.. After getting home..I see they packed 2 small boxes...1 box was filled with hot and mild peppers and the other box had 2 cans of tomato paste..1 can of green beans and 1 can of mandarin oranges. And 2 half gallons of milk.. I am extremely curious as to what meal I can make with these thrown together items. I have a family of 5 and the food provided was nothing to even put together one meal..let aline something that would feed my entire family..I am left with no gas in my car and still have nothing to feed my family. The lexis truck in front of me had a woman with no one else in the dar and her trunk was filled with atleast 6 boxes of food..i wonder why she received so many items but yet I received so little..I am grateful for anything that would help feed my family but at this point I feel as if I wasted my gas and have nothing to show for this long trip...extremely disappointed..I work fulltime and do not qualify for food stamps so based on my pay rate i cannot afford food right now if i want to make sure my rent is paid..its sad to see that in America we are struggling to get by and seek assistance for supposed to be 1 week of groceries and receive scraps that noone could make 1 meal out of...Im starting to lose faith...
