I chose Coldwell Banker Bain to sell my property in January 2020. The process has been a nightmare and I have found the agency and its team to be both unprofessional and deceitful. They fail to return phone calls or e-mails in a timely manner (typically, a four day turnaround) and they refuse to directly answer any of my questions. They have made unreasonable asks, both logistically and financially, to list my property. Worse, because they continually delayed their correspondence and efforts, once the 'shelter-in-place' order went into effect, I was left holding onto the property. Since the disaster, they made no effort whatsoever to contact me, reassure me, or help me with the listing. I will never recommend any of the agents or services affiliated with Bain to anyone because of the financial situation these people have put me in.
A complete scam! Ms. Linda Semon is a realtor who engages in dishonest and fraudulent business practices. She works in cahoots with a Santa Monica landlord to scam unsuspecting tenants. We were told that we were responsible for the realtor's "upfront commissions" and charged an extra $8,424. And this is on top of a $17,500 deposit, for a total of almost $26,000! To begin, we had responded to an online ad which had NO agent listed. In fact, the landlord specifically mentioned that she worked "without" an agent to keep her costs down! And so of course, we never were aware of or spoke to an agent, as it was a property listed solely by the landlord herself. Furthermore, the contract written up by this company leaves you completely "unprotected" and open to landlord abuse. We are now forced to begin litigation proceedings. Please do not be tricked by these people. Beware!
