I have never been treated with such rudeness by a professional in my LIFE. I was referred to the Sewing Man by friends in the area and was shocked by the disrespect I received. I was asking a simple question about his business and he raised his voice at me, telling me that I need to make an appointment or stop waisting his time. When I asked him to explain why he became so irate out of nowhere, he told me that he didn't want my business. All I did was ask if he had a lot of projects on his plate and if he was open to taking an expedited job, that I WAS HAPPY TO PAY A PREMIUM for. I understand that you need to make an appointment to assess if you can take the job, but, don't yell at a potential customer. I called another location asking the same question and was treated with kindness. The job will be done IN TIME TOO! I've made sure that all of my friends that referred me know what happened. I don't leave bad reviews, but this was bad enough to do so.

Earl does excellent work and I worked with him for many years. I'm giving him a negative rating because I ultimately ran out of patience with his unreliability and lack of accountability. I finally picked up a coat that I'd dropped off in January 2016 to have the liner replaced. He returned two unfinished summer dresses that I'd ask him to work on in summer 2017. He has plenty of excuses for why the work doesn't get done in a timely manner. I think the excuse for not finishing the dresses is that he didn't like that I was angry with him. He may try to claim that I didn't pay him to finish the work. I asked him what I owed him and he said that we were square - and then didn't finish them. Over the years that I worked with him I witnessed several customers who were frustrated with him because he didn't complete their jobs when he said that he would. I have become one of those customers - and I acknowledge that i should have put an end to this nonsense a long time ago. Again, he does excellent work, but be prepared to stay on top of him to complete the work when he says that he will. I've since returned to a tailor i've worked with in the past. When he says that a project will be ready in two weeks I believe him. With Earl not so much.
Go see Earl - even if you don't have anything that needs to be sewn. You'll get a taste of the best hot sauce you've ever had in your life, get to groove to some reggae beats and if you're fortunate you might even get a Jamaican fritter. The guy is a bundle of positive energy and just fun to hang out with. I suppose I have to comment on the sewing - top notch and very cheap. I went in there with a shirt that needed hemming and came out with a good vibe, a happy stomach and some new music to listen to. Oh, and a shirt that fits perfectly. Seriously, just go see the SewingMan.
I did not complete the job and I explained that to you.That's why the patches fell off. You also mentioned in our conversation, you were going to purchase new pants. I also refunded your money! Enjoy every breath and keep positive!

The guy is super nice no issues there. He took in some pants that I wanted knee patches done and he ended up not being able to complete it cuz it was too much work for $150. Picked up the pants and the iron on patches he did fell off immediately and then he stitches one patch on the inside of a pair and only iron on on the other leg so that patch fell off in the dryer. I assume he's great at everything else, but I just was not satisfied at all with the service. Just a heads up to people.
