Joined the co-op when I moved to Lincoln in 2018, worked in the deli/bakery from 8/2018-8/2019. If it were not for my coworkers I would have left much sooner. Management is unsupportive of employees, including telling employees who raise concerns that this is 'a safe place' effectively gaslighting their lived experience. Within the month I quit, at least 5 other members of food service quit and most cited that the food service manager uses abusive tactics to manager her team. To date the management at open harvest refuses to acknowledge the harm they have done and is unwilling to seriously engage employees in the changes necessary to uphold the principles of the cooperative. They have protected and sympathized with a known Holocaust denier, ignored complaints raised by BIPOC and Jewish community members regarding the treatment they've experienced in the store, and have blatantly lied to cover their inaction. The food is generally overpriced, they've shown that they are not willing to protect minorities, and they actively ignore their employees concerns. There are several small markets nearby that have great produce, specialty items, and are locally owned by BIPOC of the Lincoln community, I would suggest putting your dollars there.

My parents helped start this Co-OP & it is nothing like when it started. It was started by lots of very hard working people. Now the hardworking people are discarded.

Super rad organic coop grocer. Be prepared to pay with cash or debit card, but spend a decent amount before you pay with the plastic. Bring a bag in with you or be prepared to face shame, killing trees and oceans ain't cool. The homemade hummus is the shizzz!

I stopped & got a parking space right away. I found my favorite soup that they make; muligatwany. It was delicious, warmed me nicely.

Not very knowledgeable I asked two separate people about two different items for my child and both of them said that their Specialist or whatever wasn't in at night. Just a little confused if you work at a natural store you should probably have some knowledge about essential oils and common things people come in for at a health homeopathic location. I think it's time to get another specialist there in the evenings it was very clean and the people were exceptionally sweet they just need a little bit more knowledgeable staff. #mommyofasickbaby
