They promise you you'll do a bunch of good and they there will be work to do. You pay the 9,300$ for the trip and don't find out until several days into the trip that they have no work planned for you and you basically sit around all day everyday. I wanted to work when I went on this trip and found that I was able to find some working with the short term teams. They would come to the area to work every other week or so and we did some good. The rest of my immersion team did no work. When I missed a few planned immersion events because I was sweaty and needed a shower after doing manual labor all day I was told I would be sent home with no refund. I was sent home from a 6 month trip after one month and told I couldn't have even a partial refund of the 9,300$ I paid them. They cost of my plane tickets and equipment made my total costs add up to over 10k. They put me in this foreign country with no work to do. Basically sitting around doing nothing every day. They tell you the purpose of your trip is to "build relationships" but there is no knocking on doors spreading the gospel you just talk with those around you, eat their food, etc. On top of it all my team leader was a 22 old girl who had it out for me and basically snapped at me every time I had an idea. This company scammed me. They don't plan for work to be done. They put anyone in charge it seems regardless of emotional maturity. They are a christian organization and they stole from me. Beware of their no refund policy... Be prepared to do no work... OR just find a REAL mission trip organization that ACTUALLY helps people. UPDATE: I was given a 1,500$ refund. I told Chris (head honcho) I'd delete this review but he says he doesn't care. This was honest. I hope I can save someone who wants to do good in the world from wasting their time and money with this company. I did enjoy my trip but it simply wasn't what I paid for. A MISSION TRIP. God save us.
