A busy commuters hub which has its ups and downs. For one there are no toilet facilities in the station which are provided in other stations like Huddersfield. There are also major delays that may be caused by some form of infrastructure issues which need to be addressed. Another problem is that the station just isnt big enough and with an increase over the years of use of public transport there needs to be some form of extension of the platform, or even additional platforms taking on more services as Dewsbury is a major station along the route; it needs to be levelled up if it is going to take the challenge of the dramatic increase of commuters in the coming years. All in all the services and station is at least in operation throughout the year and there are friendly clerks and conductors assisting with tickets. If the problems are resolved then I have no doubt that Dewsbury can rival even overshadow many of the major train stations of the region.
Trains are always running late. No direct services to London.
