I sent this message to Cheesies management a week ago with no response so I am posting this here. This is in regards to an incident that occurred at the Lakeview location on Tuesday July 19th. My friend and I visited around 8pm. We are both over the age of 21, and our ID's were checked at the door with no issue. Once seated, our ID's were again checked with our waiter, who said nothing at the time. I ordered a drink and was told "okay guys how about some sodas?". We initially thought he was joking, as our ID's are real. He then told us a story about what "used to be done with fake ID's," and then left. We were incredibly confused, but didn't worry about the encounter. Later after finishing our meal, we asked the same waiter about the drinks that we ordered. He told us our ID's looked "fishy" and "nothing personal." He left again. At this point, we were shocked and confused that we were denied service with legal ID's. The final encounter with our waiter was when he approached us and said, "How are my two favorite 14 year olds doing? Nothing personal". My friend reiterated that we are of legal age. The waiter singled me out, saying it was my ID that "tipped him off," and that the "back looked off,". The second reason he said was that I didn't take my mask off when he was initially checking my ID, however the waiter never asked me to, and I could not have known he wanted me to do so otherwise. The third reason was because me and my friend attempted to order long island iced teas. He gave zero other explanation. This made us extremely uncomfortable, as we were turned down service, called 14 years old, and singled out while being the only non-white patrons in the restaurant at the time. I am bringing this to your attention because my experience was incredibly demeaning and embarrassing. No one should be made to feel this way.
Hi Veronica, As our name indicates, Cheesie's Pub & Grub is a bar, not a byob. Review of our video footage showed that you came into our establishment with several cans of an alcoholic seltzer beverage. You and your group drank these while sitting at the bar. The bartender caught you drinking one of them and kindly asked you to throw them away. One of them was thrown away, but then you and your group continued to drink the others you had snuck in. Your behavior puts our business at risk by jeopardizing our liquor license and could get us shut down. Which is why the second time you were caught, you were asked to leave. Before you bring alcoholic beverages into another establishment instead of just purchasing drinks from the bar, consider all of the people who work there and how many jobs could be lost by those actions which could get the establishment shut down. Or if you prefer to drink the alcohol you purchased from a store, instead of buying it at the bar, then maybe you should just drink at home.

Came in with 1 Truly can thinking it was BYOB and instead of getting a warning and getting told to throw the can away, the staff rudely told us to leave immediately and made a HUGE scene. Who would have thought that there is a Cheesies bouncer. No warning- NOTHING. I would have gladly tossed my truly for a grilled cheese and some cheese curds but the rude staff told us to leave IMMEDIATELY with 0 warning. Wont be coming back here any time soon.
