Thank you for sharing your concerns. The content of our Autism Summit in April 2021 was centered around therapists helping families with ideas and resources. Future summits may include presenters with autism, as we have done in the past.

Dear Autism Family Members, You and your autistic child deserve to be connected with autistic adults. Your children deserve to see and hear successful autistic adults so that autistic success isn't some "pie in the sky" dream. I'll tell you personally that it's a terrifying childhood experience to rarely, if ever, be exposed to successfuly autistic adults. The Capper Foundation's "Autism Summit" has failed to include autistic speakers far more often than they have included. I even volunteered as an educator and autistic man to show off universal accessability features for learning that my mainstream classroom students use. Capper deamed the mere 10 minutes that I would need to valuable to take away from non-autistic speakers. 2022 Edit: The response from the "owner" has proven me correct. "Future summits may include presenters with autism" Capper considers autistic people non-essential in their conversation on autism. Sandy was more interested in defending the Capper foundation than the right of autistic voices to be heard in their own conversation. Sandy does not respect autistic voices and should be fired for gatekeeping for a second year in a row. If you care about your autistic child, demand nothing about autistic people without autistic people. Otherwise, they will face the same exclusionary gate keeping as us when they grow and speak up.
While I like their mission... their leadership(after directly speaking to them) leave one wondering why/if they care about the mission or people that they represent...
I have a child who attends Capper and they are fantastic. Very willing and accommodating of schedule changes and wonderful with my child. They are also very accommodating on financial assistance. There is a waiting list, but the services they provide are well worth the wait.
Thank you, Natalie! We are thrilled to know of your child's success and wish your whole family the best.

There's no better place than Cappers!! The great encouragement my child received from therapists to learn life building skills is amazing. Strength, courage and confidence can describe what my child has gained. They have changed the lives of our whole family just by teaching one child
If your child need services, please be aware there is a waiting list. Make sure that you are on time every appointment. Even if an emergency arise or there is scheduling conflicts. If not, they will most likely boot you. There is an high chance you will loose your spot. However, knowlingy with special need children, time is highly valuable with parents and there is needs to be more flexibility and compassion when situation arise. Unexpected situations do arise that can or might impeded with scheduling and appointments. But medical organizations need to be more aware and accommodate every child medical and personal needs. Therefore, it is highly advisble to be on time, keep an constant open communication and not miss any appointment to maintain services with Cappers Foundation.
