First-timer here so idk how the NYC food culture is. My friends and I had an unpleasant experience due to the cashiers attitude of not getting a tip (although I was in the process of getting the cash tip ready). Personally, tip should be given if the consumer believes he/she received excellent service. For a cashier to be upset about not receiving a tip for merely taking our order is ridiculous. Nonetheless, a tip was given for the barista who made our drinks. For the drinks, they were mid matcha latte, regular latte, and chai latte all tasted like whole milk. Cronuts were fairly good overall. Only complaint was that the icing on top were too sweet for us, but if you like super sweet desserts then itll suit you better.
I tried the pain au chocolat, plan, ham & cheese, and almond croissants. The most unique was the almond because it is a pound of almondy indulgence. The plain was also decent more on the oily and soft side as opposed to flaky. The pain au chocolat was hit or miss. One had zero layers as did the ham and cheese. *shrug*
Terrible experience. Ran out of regular croissants at 10 AM on Sunday (you must be kidding and there were dozens behind the window. They could have grabbed one and made more. They refused.). Olive oil croissants are tasteless and ridiculously overpriced. Pain au Chocolat looks great, disappointing otherwise. Coffee is better almost everywhere else (and they forgot my coffee order and left me standing there while fulfilling coffee orders made after me). Tried it. Never going back.
