I have been to Fathers Heart on Saturday morning for breakfast and mostly the generous food pantry. It's been a life saver for me on several occasion. I only take advantage of it when truly in need because I know that although I am unemployed and have to live very sparingly there are others worse off then me.. This morning was a time I truly needed your assistance. The home pantry is bare as I use the support I do get to help others in my home. I arrived at the church at 10:55 after walking there from 28th st. There were still many people there waiting for their pantry food. I was stopped at the door and turned away. I explained that I just needed the pantry to help us through the weekend. I was told by JASON a heavy set young oriental man that it was closed and they only served the last person on line. I felt like I was being punished because I hadn't waited online. I actually thought it started at 11 rather than 10. I walked away then went back to JASON and asked again and was turned away as people were still leaving from the pantry. It was a bad experience for me. It left me with the feeling that JASON really didn't care and was just there for something to put on his RESUME or maybe he was personally rejudice because I was only 1 of the few white people there. It look like this is the first review. To others this is directed at one individual but others witnessed and said nothing.
Very helpful and giving. Kids Zone is also fun my kiddies and I go every Tuesday from 6 to 7pm
