Shrine is one of my favorite places in NYC. Shrine is dedicated to Fela Kuti and The Shrine in Kalakuta, Nigeria. The ambiance great; it's adorned with album covers, African artifacts, and vibrant colors. They have great service and the drinks are never watered down. The sound system is great and there are always eclectic bands with great music. I have performed here several times. The DJ is the absolute best!!!! His playlist is topnotch! The menu is simple, but the food is good. I don't go for the food, though. I go for the fun! SOOOOOOO MUUUCH FUUUNNNN!!
