We tried to use them for our financial advisor business. They claim you can make accounts with their application XML. This isn't exactly true. Sure you can create the account, but the client need to login to IB's ugly and unfamiliar website and agree to even more terms. No client in their right mind would do this. Then we don't even have the ability to issue transfers on the client's behalf. The client must call IB or do it from IB's website, not even ours. Clients receive emails from interactive brokers and think fraud is taking place, because they didn't sign up for an account with them. Overall DO NOT use these people for an advisor business. APEX Clearing was the one we should have gone with from the beginning, but can't afford them. All in all IB has proved to be a big waste of time with their dated platform.

Painless account opening procedure even as a European, friendly customer service always keen to help (I used chat only). As opposed to previous reviewers, I did not run into any issues myself.

Been a customer since 2012. The only online brokerage firm that still charges for trades. They had a massive outage Dec 7 and this is their response. Expect them to mess up massively and often. Expect zero compensation. The only reason to use them is the margin rates and algo's. Avoid at all costs.
