Staff used to be better. Had a rude experience last time we went.
Thank you for your response Korey! At our Free Geek store, we price everything 30% below market value. This cost goes to providing job salaries, recycling unusable items, and many other things heading back into our organizations. Our online store actually has an even lower market value standard, so please feel free to check out both our Free Geek Basics and Free Geek Advanced stores at https://www.freegeek.org/shop/shop-online. As a non-profit, we encourage others to purchase from our stores to benefit our programs, such as Plug Into Portland or Welcome to Computers, rather than purchase from a private seller.

I want to support a non profit organization, but these prices dont even Compete with Frys. Very expensive outdated and used hardware.
I believe in the mission here. Free Geek will take (for free, only asking for a donation) everything short of toxic waste or biologically related electronics. Printer toner, lithium batteries, CRT TV's and monitors, stereo equipment, printers, computers, cell phones, etc. They take tons of stuff, there is a very short list of things they don't take on their website. They also accept old software, movies, computer books, games, etc. Just no writable media. Free Geek focuses on Reuse first, so if you want your item to possibly find new life this is the place to take it. They do a lot for the community. Non-profits can request a grant for computer hardware to help them with their missions. Classes are taught through community partners. If nothing else, consider making a charitable contribution. They keep over 1,000,000 lbs of electronics out of the landfill every year. Help them do that good work.
Hi William, so sorry to hear that you had a bad experience with us. Our hours are 10-6 Tuesday-Saturday. Can you tell us about the specific experience you had? We would love to know so that we can in the future make sure something like this doesn't happen again.

There's nothing worse than a business who opens late, might close shop during the day due-to-whatever-unknown reason and closes early. I'll never recommend again due to wasting my time. You're better off donating to Goodwill.
