My experience was negative enough to warrant a review. This was my first visit with Ann. I made an appointment for coloring my black (virgin) hair. I wanted it to be brown and showed her two photos of the look I was going for. She said the photos had some red in them (I didn't see that, but figured I wasn't a color expert and trusted her) and I assumed she was going to give me the look in the photo. After dying my hair, my hair turned out nothing like the photos. When I asked if it was too red, she said it was "brown red." I went home to sit on it. Woke up the next day and realized it was too red (and *nothing* like the photos). I called Ann the next day and she was prompt in returning my call on a Sunday. Was very apologetic and offered to get me in the next day. She said she would tone my hair. I showed up the next day and showed her the photos I had originally shown her. She said she thought we were on the same page ("red hair looks very good on Indians") and I reiterated that I just wanted what was in the photos. She applied toner, and it was still red. I spoke up about it and then she proceeded to raise her voice for 5 minutes, explaining the science of toning and coloring and saying had I just asked, brown hair is the easiest and she would have given it to me. (I *DID* ask; I literally showed her 2 photos of brown hair and requested mine to look like that.) I asked if she could make my color look like the photos, and she deflecting, continuing to race her voice while I sad there silent and scared. I was on the verge of tears and that has never happened to me in a salon. She applied more toner haphazardly and left to get lunch across the street, telling me she used her lunch hour to squeeze me in. She toned it once more and I glanced at it in the mirror and just walked out. I see no brown like I asked, only muted and subtle red. While I appreciate her offering to correct it for no charge, it still looks nothing like the photos and it was clear she wasn't going to do more. I wish she would have refunded my money, because I will need to get it corrected at another salon. Worst of all, I left feeling terrible and thought her raising her voice and chastising me was super inappropriate. Never again.

Ann is great. Excellent professional and a very respectful person. I have been going to her salon for the last 6 years. I was never disappointed.

Anne is incredible! She is the only person I trust to cut my hair. Every time, I show her a picture and vaguely explain what I want and it turns out better than I ever could have expected. She is an absolute pro - efficient and kind. Ive lived in the inner sunset for two years and I still trekked to glen park to get my hair cut by her, and now have followed her to Noe Valley.
