Love the designs, great info on website, had a great experience viewing the real thing at the showroom. The problem is, since our on-site visit, have not been able to get responses from sales rep despite follow-up emails. Have no idea why.
Hey Sang, thanks for leaving a review. Curious to know more about what product features you were referring to.

Seems like they're enjoying their success, but the product was just ok. The finishes weren't great. If you are strictly going to rent it out. Maybe it will be fine.
Hi Anna, we understand where you were coming from and glad we were able to resolve the issue at hand. We appreciate your patience and your promise to following up on this. We want to ensure that we're here along the way and will do what's right when it comes to our projects. Thank you again for the updated review, we look forward to trucking along with your Abodu project!

*Update to my initial review* As promised, I happy to amend this review based on Abodu finally addressing my family's concerns regarding invoicing questions we had before making our next (and significant) payment. I would like to credit our new PM and his manager in making sure that they had answers to all of our questions before reverting back with answers to us. Whilst I respect operating in this manner and appreciate addressing these questions it was at the cost of several stressful weeks while we waited to understand to hear back which resulted in my initial review. At this time we now understand that it was a clerical error and the necessary adjustments have been made to our invoice and we are continuing to proceed with our project. We look forward to this project progressing and the completion of our Abodu one. Let me start off by saying that I will be happy to amend this review once Abodu can provide transparent and timely responses to our questions regarding our build and hopefully we can get this sorted. To start, we signed our contract in January 2021 and placed our 10% deposit ($18,500) with Abodu. There was a push by Sales (Dennis) to complete this because "costs" were going up; there was also an incentive to receive a credit for $10,000 towards build. At this point (Jan 2021) we had not secured funding but were assured by Sales that this was no problem and that they "worked with tons of different finance providers that can help us". They actually had two and both options had never offered financing for an ADU project before; and they found the product to be too risky for their portfolios. During this time we continue to provide updates to Abodu. At no point while we updated them on our financing did they update us on our project (okay fine but not really). We asked that we get several weeks to seek funding ourselves which we finally did (shout out to our local Credit Union for a great HELOC). When we secured our monies and went to make our next payment we were shocked to see that our project went from $242,000 to $260,000 to wait for it..... $275,000. No documentation or explanation about the price increases. We have contacted Abodu and asked for an explanation of these costs which our (new) project manager cannot explain. No update as to when our old PM left, that we were getting a new one (until someone finally had to answer our calls/emails), no update when there were change orders to our project including these significant changes in cost, and now we continue to chase our PM for answers before we are willing to make our next payment. What's really frustrating is that part of these significant cost changes (guessing BTW because we don't actually have a break down just generic wording from their app CoConstruct) are for things that literally DO NOT EXISIT. Such as tree and shrub removal. Guess what, the lot is literally a graded dirt lot; they also included charges for a new electrical panel (which we already have). Queue in Sales (who is no where to be found at all during these discussions) to tell us months ago that these are "estimates and that generally they aren't true costs and that your pricing will be significantly less"...Hmmmmm. I understand that we should have been more diligent on our end but this is just a terrible customer experience. I am hoping that we can resolve this soon and that we can come to a resolution.
Thanks Stephen! Let us know if you ever want to stop by our showroom to see our units in person! We are happy to help you or answer any questions you may have. Thanks!
Hey Dan, we have worked to look into this your project but do not have a 'Dan Cheng' in our system. From what we believe to be this project under another name--Abodu fulfilled everything under our end. Unfortunately, there were delays with key handover from PG&E which is out of our control and was overly communicated to the homeowner. We're happy to chat more about this matter if you'd like. We're truly bummed to hear about the current situation and will help in every way we can.

The ADU was placed 3 months ago, and we still haven't handed over the key. The date is pushed back again and again. And there is no response from the person who is in charge of our project at all.
