Lisa and Michael Rockwell basically tried to extort us and when they didnt get their way, you see the review here. The custom made to order product in question is offered for $999 on our website. Initially we were offering it for $699 with .45ct diamonds, but after receiving feedback from other clients, we increase the tcw to .7 carat and increased the price to $999. We had not caught up to changing the price on Etsy, and when Lisa saw the price on Etsy, she started contacting us there knowing that price was higher on our website. We explained that we changed the size of the diamonds we use for that setting and if they want we can do it for the $699 with the small diamonds. After that, they started using abusive language. Anyways, folks if this is how you want to buy something as sacred as an engagement ring, please do not buy it from us.

Was working with Sharif on an engagement ring setting and when we were close to finalizing the order, the price went from $699 to $899. Not really bait and switch but a lousy way to do business. We had a very tight budget and would not have wasted our time if we knew it was going to be that much.

Petra Gems is so easy to work with. I originally found them on Etsy and was in love with a semi-mount, white gold and diamond accent ring on that site. Then I realized, this was my wedding ring and I was going to buy it more than halfway across the country! I read a bulk of the reviews, saw their ratings on other sites, including people who were also making the same important decision. The ring was a reasonable price and through chatting, we made some adjustments. I decided to buy my center stone at my local jewelry district and felt completely secure mailing it to them. They set my stone and I received my ring overnight 10 days later. SO in love with the look I created from their setting. Petra Gems is also really great at communication. I'm not sure if they sleep. Their designs are gorgeous. Maybe next year I'll send them some diamonds to set my 1st anniversary ring to go with my wedding ring. Thank you!

Thank you for your feedback, Travor. I just want to clarify a few points for transparency purposes. We welcome and appreciate your opinion. Our return policy clearly states that all items should be in original condition. If any jeweler in the US accept a return after an other jeweler work on it, we will give you double of what you paid for the ring. Also, I think you forgot to mention that we did give you a refund for the matching wedding band that the jeweler did not work on. The second point I want to share is that the pictures do not show anything, and it doesn't show anything wrong with the pave work. Also, it is very important to note that small diamonds on settings like that fall all the time, and we have replaced them for a number of our of clients within the 1 year warranty that we offer free of cost. We actually now are considering not to offer any settings that have diamonds on the prongs near the head (in that area, it almost always fall because it is often bent while setting the main stone). In your case, we went out of our way and offered that we would only charge you the labor cost of our goldsmith because we didn't break the prongs, it was the setter that you hired to set the main diamond. If he didn't like the way the setting was made, he shouldn't have touched it. If he worked on it and something went wrong, it is entirely his responsibility. You decided not to use our service, and we respect your decision. Thank you, Sharif

Earlier this year I was shopping for an engagement ring and Petra Gems had the best price for a custom ring that I saw. Their reviews were good so I went with them. To cut to the chase, the ring was not designed properly. The ring was delivered so a local jeweler could install the center stone. The local jeweler upon first inspecting the workmanship was immediately concerned and warned me that the prongs were too thin. The center stone would not stay set so we had to bring it back to the local jeweler several times to re-set the center stone. A microscope revealed there were multiple cracks and pieces missing from the sections which hold the accent stones in the head. One of the accent stones fell out and several didn't have metal surrounding them on the sides. On the stone that fell out, the metal behind it looked blown out. The local jeweler said the method for setting the accent stones looked like one used overseas. I took the ring to two other jewelers to get their opinion and each said the ring was not structurally sound. Eventually one of the prongs broke off of the ring. Where I became thoroughly dissatisfied was with the customer service from Petra Gems, whose first response was defensive and accusatory. I tried to reason further but the second response from Petra Gems informed me in the same defensive manner that their warranty was void the moment another jeweler touches their work! This was not on their website and this was not communicated when Petra Gems and I arranged to have another jeweler set the stone! It wasn't until a week into the ordeal that Petra Gems offered to fix the ring at cost to me. Keep in mind my traumatized fiancée was not interested in any products from Petra Gems at that point. My warning to the buyer is use a credit card so that you can get a refund in the event that Petra Gems decides to void your warranty and not own up to their mistakes. I've attached some microscope images showing some of the cracks and chunks missing from the prongs.
