While I appreciate their healthy choices, I can't justify coming back here after today. I work in ADMO and also in retail so I try to support all the local businesses as much as I can. I came here to get something small so the owner recommended I get an everything bagel with a choice of vegan cheese. The bagel is listed at around $2.95 so I figured with the cream cheese it wouldn't be more than $5. It actually came out to $8.25. When I asked them how it came to $8.25 they told me they charge extra to toast the bagel...seriously? The thing is, they never even mentioned they would charge me extra to toast the bagel or even explained the option to me. It was an assumed charge. I tipped them an additional $2 anyway but $8.25 for a bagel with cream cheese? No thanks. You got me once though. Won't happen again.
Love that this is all gluten free! My main complaint though is it takes forever to get when ordering on Uber eats, always takes 1.5, even 2 hours for them to make the food. One time I waited 1.5 hours and then it literally never arrived it got cancelled and by that time the restaurant was closed. Not sure why it should be taking that long. So beware
Im putting this at the top of my review because I would like to mention that the employees here are actually very kind! I come here all the time when Im in DC. Ive traveled to GF bakeries in MA, GA, CA, VA, and here in DC and this is the best gluten free bakery out of all of them. I could care less about the price because its the experience! Where else can you get a gf key lime pie with snickerdoodle crust and whipped cream? RE: Im changing my review to 5 stars!!! After returning to this bakery a year later I was pleased to discover how much they turned around and started making to-die-for treats!!!!!! These are better than any gluten free bakery Product Ive tried in California!! When I was visiting DC recently I found myself at this Bakery every day for breakfast, I loved this place so much I even packed two key lime pies in a Tupperware in my suitcase so I could bring one back to my mom!! She loved every bite and it really was a memorable experience. This company truly takes their customers words as food for thought. I can taste the hard work and dedication this company strives for. I also want to mention that the customer service has tremendously improved, their employees are so friendly, one of the big reasons I return is how welcoming and attentive they are. Im kind of addicted to this place. (Old Review) Okay so I was really excited to try this place but I can't help but feel unwelcomed by customer service. I've gone here twice, and coming from California, I can give their croissants and breads an amazing gluten free stamp but their pastries definitely taste gluten free and chalky, mastering GF means more than getting it to stick. With all being said, I am reluctant to go back. 1 star for the croissants. Another for the brioche. But -3 stars for customer service and flavor. This place would be amazing if the employees were more welcoming of all walks of life.
Hi Caitlin, Sorry you did not have a good experience. We do love all of our delivery app partners, but DoorDash unfortunately does not let us manually remove unavailable items from orders like our other apps do. We have an option to contact the customer, which we tried a couple times, but there was only a dial tone. We would definitely be willing to get you a gift card and/or work to get the entire order refunded by DoorDash. If you shoot me a message at [email protected] I can set that up for you.

Good food but terrible customer service. Recently ordered a bagel for pickup and went all the way to the store only to be told they were out- they made absolutely no attempt to contact me through the ordering app. They don't seem to value their customers at all and I will be searching for a new gluten free bakery in DC
