My son needed a hospital bed. It needed to be electric because I am old and the primary caregiver. Denise, at Turnstone, worked and worked to find just what he needed from people wanting to donate beds when they no longer were needed.. this love My lady was wonderful and successful. I love her. Thank you so much!

My son was discharged and terminated for speech and OT, I hadnt messaged them that myself and my other child how to get tested for Covid and last time my daughter went to the doctor for hand foot and mouth not even Covid they said that I couldnt bring my son for his speech session but this time around their story totally changed that long as it wasnt a child that attends that he could still come to one is pregnant and out of respect I thought I was doing the right thing But its pretty shady that oh yeah we dont wanna see him if youre taking your daughter to the doctors even though it was it Covid related and then thisTime is totally different they just didnt like my son as crazy as it sounds and look for a way to dump him from their therapy sessions with him

4/1/2014 I have had the privilege to witness an evolution of positive change and proven results, thanks in part, to the amazing and talented Leadership at Turnstone (Center for Children and Adults with Disabilities), the amazing Boards and Subcommittees of Turnstone, it's wealth of Turnstone Volunteers, Turnstone's loyal, concerned and involved Donors and Philanthropists , the community of Fort Wayne, Indiana, in which it participates and of course it's amazing and hopeful CLIENTS, who ultimately are the telling success stories. Turnstone is a jewel within the Fort Wayne Community. It restores hope where hope was either distant or lost. It does this through proven results, affirmation of success, inspiration derived from the efforts of thousands who care about those in need, who are willing to put in the effort to achieve successes! I love the mission and philosophy of this amazing organization. EVERYONE is treated in a trusted environment with respect, hope and professionalism while incorporating the humanness of care. Turnstone provides care for those with physical disabilities through therapies of many types in the effort to ultimately attain the highest level of physical ability. I'm sure Turnstone does a lot of good for people, but my personal experience was a nightmare. After talking with the lady over the childcare area I felt like this was a perfect fit for my then 4yr old son who has ADHD. Every issue I had they assured me they had dealt with worse and knew how to handle him. Instead he started having issues there that he didn't have at home. They held a little meeting and once again assured me it was just him testing boundaries and not adjusting to the change. 2 days later after this meeting where they assured me they wouldn't give up on him they let me know by phone right after I picked him up that he could not come back. There were multiple excuses, one of them being he was a danger to himself because he climbed on a desk. They are worried about that...but not the 10yr old boy that would throw himself on the floor in the morning and scream and kick his feet. So not only was he kicked out after not even a full week and literally the day before his birthday...I was given no time to even make arrangements for his school or other child care. Forced me to miss work for multiple days till I got him back to his previous child care who doesn't specialize in special needs children...And we have had no issues. All the stuff they said he was doing, he hasn't done none of it at home or at his child care he is at now. I could never recommend this place to anyone after my experience with them and the lack of effort I feel was given to my child. Also I feel like they need more helpers in these classrooms. I only ever saw 3 at the most in my son's room and at least 1 lady was always taken every single day by a little girl constantly needing attention or to be told to stop doing something.
