Hi! I am Michael, the aforementioned Director : ) Nicole was aggressive and unkind from the outset (Kids were great!)...I guess she continues to be(?) There was nothing "honest" about her feedback and there was no hate mail sent to her, just a request that she not return (you only get one chance to be mean to us lol) Please give us a try for yourself...We are a great, well trained, Team, here! Very proud!

Teachers here are nice but the director of this program doesn't like any honest feedback and will send you hate email because he doesn't like to hear how to improve. There are other better chess organizations out there. (Michael Propper you dont uninvite people for being honest. You take it as a learning experience!)

Hi Juan, we don't see a lot of these around here. Indeed, Play N Go's are a weekly League format that take place @ several locations, several days per week... But we permit "drop-ins" as well. : ) Everyone plays for points (2 pts per win, 1.5 pts per draw and 1 pt for play) and the season culminates in a $10,000 Championship for the top 20 point earners. The Events provide (3) USCF Rated matches and the consistent play encourages participation, develops their game, inspires excellence, creates friendships and rivalries, and are an absolute blast. I am confident that your disappointment lies in the fact that trophies are not awarded and not "the experience"...We are very proud of these events and hope that you enjoyed the time together as much as we do (?) It's "5 stars or bust" around here : )

Incredible, if your child not win section 1 he dont get any prize. The organizer must think that a trophy or medal have a very low cost and the child will be happy.

Being a coach at Chess NYC has been an incredibly rewarding experience. Michael Propper geniunely cares not only about the kids, but employees as well! A constant effort is made to make Chess inclusive to all interested and willing to learn. Very proud to be a member of the team.

Hi Because you reference $5 cards, we are able to determine which school your Child attends. Terribly sorry that you chose to post rather than communicate to us. We had a great time out there! Sent several Gift Cards, to the school, for the winners that you reference and $5 to everyone else as a bonus! I myself being a parent love the idea of Chess introduced to children. Times have changed from back when I was in school to the present day! Playing this amazing game not only has benefits to enhancing the brain but a social game and creates life time friendships. I am pro Chess for the KIDS! Anyway back to this organization ChessNYC. I am writing my review because I am very disappointed with the company. My son was in an afterschool chess program led by Michael Propper director of ChessNyc and can reinsure he will no longer attend. He promised my child as well as other children a gift card which he flat out lied". My son was promised a $50 gift card. Crazy how my son received a $5 gift card few months later what a joke" I and other parents are disgusted and want an explanation.
