Was forced to go there through the Star of Hope. They didn't teach the reality of interviewing at the workplace for minorities. Programs really don't help you at all. Nothing they teach you will get you an actual job. But its a good hustle there for the the staff and owner to make money.

I went in because I heard they will help with big gaps in your resume. I had been out of work for several months and had gaps of unemployment and was looking to team with an organization to get me past my stagnate search. The first week I filled out papers and was told to come back next week for an interview which I did. Did the interview and passed meaning I was acceptable to their "program". Come back next week for orientation I am told. So I come back the next week for orientation only to be scolded for being 1 minute late and wearing shorts. I guess I am a deviant in their eyes. So I am sitting for a while waiting for their "Devotion" to end so I can go into the class room and be oriented. I realize it is a faith based organization but I think the faith comes believing that this group will finally, at some point in time, actually offer some assistance. Needless to say I did not stay for the "orientation" and left feeling that after 3 weeks I would be better off with some other organization that will actually help and do something to assist.

Has really changed, all the counselers are gone, when Ms. Ramona and Ronny left it really went downhill. Not the same place it was a very supportive place with good energy , and it has really changed.But Workfaith has done alot for alot of people and continues to do so. I know downtown is not the best place to support , but is a place that has a great need. Dont forget about us.
