Thank you for your feedback Michael. We appreciate the opportunity to respond, especially since you were not here for the appointment. While all our physical and occupational therapy treatments are individualized and developmentally appropriate, there are certain safety precautions, in accordance with the American Hippotherapy Associations standards of treatment, which must be followed. For example, only staff are permitted in the arena. Also, all children must wear a riding helmet during the on-the-horse portion of the treatment. We feel like weve gone above and beyond to work through this situation by bringing in a second therapist to speak with the parent who was here with your child, spending additional time after the appointment working through that parents questions and concerns, sending a loaner helmet home for your child, and offering to recommend other treatments that might be a better fit. As with any other business or organization, there are certain parameters we work within, parameters which are not a fit for everyone. This appears to be one of those cases. We certainly understand that and we wish you all the best in finding a program that works well for your familys needs. Sincerely, The Childrens TherAplay Foundation

They failed to individualize therapy or meet our child where he was, didn't read (or take into account) the intake the form, had developmentally inappropriate expectations, and were moderately rude.
Where do I even begin to express my appreciation for The Children's TherAplay Foundation. I was introduced to Children's TherAplay 12 years ago as an OT student. That day I learned how the clinic was using horses as a tool to treat children with varying diagnoses and abilities. Never in my wildest dreams could I had imagined that my husband and I would have a child with special needs. When our son was diagnosed at 13 months with a variety of genetic disorders I knew exactly where he needed to receive therapy.....Children's TherAplay. Our son began treatment at 18 months and at that time he was only able to roll from place to place and sit for a while. In past 3 1/2 years we have watched him learn to crawl, stand, walk with a walker and progress to walking without a walker. He has also learned how to use utensils to feed himself and is continuing to work on dressing along with pre writing skills for school. From the moment we walked into the clinic we were treated with kindness and respect. Children's TherAplay is a part of our family and we are so grateful that they are on this journey with our son and family. Ryan and Jenna Todd
They are staffed with exceptional therapists who get the most out of their clients. The mix of therapy on the horse as well as in the clinic is invaluable.
Hands-down, Theraplay has been one of the best choices I've made for my daughter. She has achieved so much in the year and a half shes been going...the difference in her core strength, balance, coordination, and especially her confidence has been nothing short of amazing. OT Leah is so great with her and is very communicative regarding her progress. Our experience has been nothing but positive! I HIGHLY recommend this program!
