Unfortunately, older DVD software with better main menu won't install or work on newer apple computers because the technology today is moving to digital files and storage in the cloud. That is why all new apple computers do not have DVD players. That is why I gave you the five Re-authored Master DVDs and also gave you edited digital files (which was not part of the DVD re-authoring work) for free. The table of contents you have on your sheet has too much words for the menu you want. However, if you must have a menu with chapters, there is another way I can try. However, you have to limit the words to two or three short words ( not a paragraph) on the menu and no more than 5 titles per DVD disc. What I can do for you is I can recreate another 5 Master DVDs with a maximum of 5 titles. plus one "play all menu for a total of 6 chapters per DVD. The #6 play all chapter will be the current enter/play What you need to do: watch each of the .mov files I gave you and note the beginning and end time codes of the top 5 "chapters" you want on the main menu and email them to me. Each chapter beginning time code must begin at one of the titles with a blue background in the movie and end a second before the time code where you want that chapter to end and the chapter name must be short (not a paragraph or long sentence) so that when you click the chapter name on the main menu it goes to that point on the DVD with more words and description of the scene and start playing and returns to the main menu at the end of the time code where you specified. Sally The above is our last email communication. I re- Authored a DVD for you that did not play in DVD players and they now play. You added additional editing work which was NOT part of the DVD authoring work. I did a lot of video editing work for you for free that was NOT part of the Authoring work order. I was accommodating and explained the DVD software menu uses few words or short phrase for each chapter (not a paragraph as you typed) and Im willing to give you what you want as state in our email communication. You have not provided the chapter time codes and short words for the menu. I honestly dont understand what is Sallys motive for the one star review when you have not given me what I asked for to give you what you want. Sally if you dont; understand the process and or technology, please ask. I think you are misunderstanding I want to help you. All you need to do for example is use years example: 1946 - Fall 1948. When you click that year on the menu it will take you to blue slate in the movie where I typed the description you instructed me to type. Why reply my email saying you will send the time codes as if you understood then turn around and leave one star review? Secondly, I did not digitize your films initially Another business did. By asking me re-authoring your DVD which could not play in a DVD player (which now plays) will not automatically improve the quality and I cannot used the old menu on your old DVD because I do not have the same software. However, I can create a menu that will navigate to title screen you instructed me to type at various points in the movie. To improve you film quality, you have to redigitize the film in HD. as the samples on my website shows. The other business did not digitized your films in HD and the DVD did not play in DVD players. You just don't seem to understand the technology and process. I want to help if you can just listen, understand, and follow the instructions I sent via email. I had had my fathers 8mm movies transferred to DVD some years ago. I was never really happy with the job that was done, but never tried to do anything about it, and eventually got rid of the original films. Later, I decided to see if anything could be done to improve the DVDs. Not really expecting that anything could be done, I found A&E on line and went to consult with Emmanuel. Well - he bombarded me with talk about all the great work he does and what a poor job the previous person had done on my movies, and how wonderful he could make my disks. I couldnt understand much of what he said, but I foolishly let him talk me into signing a contract for $210 for each of 5 disks. Months and months, and many iterations later, I got my finished product. What he had done was: 1. Converted the files to .MOV files that can be played with QuickTime instead of with the obscure software that was resident on the original DVDs, and 2. Edited some chapter headings per my request. The quality of the videos was not improved at all, and all the menus were gone. This was totally unexpected. We had talked about menu items at length. When I complained, he told me menu software wont run on newer Macs because. [a lot of words that didnt make sense]. Now he tells me! But, he says, he could give me menus with up to 5 chapters on each disk, with chapter headings no longer than 3 words. Except for being playable on QuickTime, this is way worse than I started with. $1,050 seems very high for just converting the format of 5 files. Id like to charge him for all the time he spent talking my ears off to no point.
