We had someone come out to give an estimate, and we iterated on the estimate several times over phone and email. We were ready to move forward, but then they completely ghosted us. No responses to our emails. Bizarre, disappointing, and a big waste of our time.
Hi Megan thank you for taking the time to write a review. Customer satisfaction is important to us. We are confused by the dissatisfaction you expressed as we just spoke last week and you never mentioned any issues during our communication. We believe your job was completed in full as you gave us a small list of items you wanted addressed, which we did almost immediately. To further address some of the items within your review, it should be known that we were not contracted to do any of your demo or asbestos removal. This was to be done by another contractor. When we arrived to reinstall your floor after the other contractor(s) were finished, you made us aware that they didnt complete their work and we adjusted your project scope to do so and completed that work for you as well. Once the flooring was installed, you informed us that you didnt want the existing baseboards reinstalled as originally contracted. You asked for a price to install new baseboards, which we provided, and then you informed us that you didnt wish to accept the new cost and would have a friend install them instead. We completed our remaining scope of work, including having our plumber and owner there late one night to install a new range (which was not in your plan and which we didnt charge you for) so you could get back into your home as quickly as possible. All and all, were sorry you didnt feel you received a five-star experience particularly because we did a lot of extra, complimentary work (including repairing holes in your ceiling that the asbestos company left). From our standpoint, the only items that werent complete were extra items that you asked about after we had our contract in place that you opted not to have done because of extra cost. We do feel that the review you provided is unfair and needed to be properly addressed hence our lengthy reply.

We had a very subpar experience. Poor communication, lousy customer service, total lack of attention to detail, the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing, and when it was all said and done some things we had to pay to have someone else fix or figure out how to fix it ourselves.

From the first quote, I knew I wanted to use American Dreamers. Morgan clearly communicated how the crew operates and I could tell that she really understood my vision for the space. Ashley made the contracting & payment process so easy, and the work crew showed up at the exact date and time that we were promised. They arrived on time every single day, or we received a phone call to update us on the plan (which happened only twice due to bad winter weather). All crew members were kind, respectful, and talented in their craft. We could not be happier with our new rooms! Our renovation project was a big deal, especially regarding electrical & plumbing, and American Dreamers knocked it out of the park. We are already dreaming up our next home improvement project, and we will absolutely call them first!

This was discussed during the project planning stage and you declined this line item when detailing the scope of the project. While this is not our preference, some of our Clients elect to do finishing work themselves for financial purposes. As you mentioned in your review, you did ask us on the last day to amend and extend your contract. We tried to meet your needs - unfortunately we could not do it for the discounts you were asking for. The work that was completed appears to be done well. Our negative experience was in customer service, communication, and time frame. When we discussed the project, the owner pointed to a piece of baseboard trim and asked if we wanted that trim done and we said no. Apparently that meant we would not receive door trim on the 3 doors they installed. The project was supposed to take 2 weeks and took almost 4. We did add on 1 door install so they told me after the fact that added on a week, which seems excessive but what do I know. At the end of the project, we were informed the doors wouldnt be trimmed. I was then told it was a line item and that install didnt include trim. We tried to negotiate a cost for that on the last day but they wouldnt budge. Their argument for that was they gave me a door knob and painted for free. I assumed I was charged for those items as I didnt ask for them upon arrival, so that surprised me. I asked for a price on an add on during the project and got no response from 2 different emails separately about 2 items. Also, one of the workers forgot his circular saw and asked me to borrow ours, which doesnt seem professional. They did not care at all if we were satisfied which is shocking to me and the owner didnt even reply to our final emails with our concerns. She said they are done and pay. Terrible customer service. Just be sure you do tons of homework and include every detail if you go with this company as I assumed that installing a door meant the trim around it. Wouldnt recommend which is a shame because a few of the workers are quite skilled. After the response from the company I wanted to add- I would NOT give the work 5 stars. I have pictures posted of our New doors with dents in them from the install. But I appreciate you writing a response and trying to act as though I would give the work 5 stars, which doesnt surprise me at all!
