here for an event. Lady at the bar had a horrible attitude everytime someone asked for a drink.. then charged everyones cards $3 & $4 tip after the event was over!!

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. I am sorry you felt we took control of the event. Given the circumstances, someone with event knowledge had to. You arrived with your home prepared food items at 11:45am for a 7pm event. These arrived in foil pans with the expectation that this would remain healthy and warm until the event. This early and unarranged arrival, consuming our space and staff for the entire time, led to our provision of chaffing dishes, sterno, baskets, serving utensils, bowls, and extra plates for appetizers and cakes, requiring extra cleaning costs to us. You unfortunately brought inadequate amounts of rice and dips, and sparse servings of everything else. Our staff may have have seemed "pushy" when confiscating bottles of liquor that your guests attempted to bring into the building. You cannot name a bottle a "gift" for the party for the 21 yo old birthday and assume you can drink it there. This jeopardizes your other guests, violates NYS liquor laws and endangers our space. We should have known when the cake arrived with a birthday barbie vomiting into a toilet on top. And when you engaged in an argument with your DJ before the party, bringing in a last minute replacement without insurance coverage. You did not arrive with your deposit and yet we let the show go on. All.of your food was served and your bottles returned.

Editing my review since the owner has responded.... Firstly I would like to acknowledge this is not the first event I've been to at your establishment and received the same treatment so let's start there. At 11:45 the venue had not set up the tables or the linen for the event to be set up as agreed prior to the event, we folded our own napkins. The owner did not communicate any of his response below prior to the event with the person who signed the contract for the event. The owner was pushy NOT the staff as I stated below. The staff was nice, respectful and accommodating especially the guy and bartender. It was not acknowledged until start of the event of the no alcohol as gift UNTIL the event had started. The DJ debacle was a miscommunication, much as what has obviously happened with the owner and the contract signee, there was no argument. All of the food did not arrive at 11:45, and it was discussed between you and the host that it would be properly stored until the start of the event as you failed to acknowledge in your response. Also why are you worried about how much food is being served, that is not your business, you are to only be worried about safety, and regulations of your venue space which was respected. You also told the host of the event not to worry about getting more plates, serving utensils and so on as she said she would grab before the start of the event because "you had them". Sir I hope moving forward you are able to communicate better, take accountability and feedback. I truly would not recommend your venue now. I originally gave you 3 stars because of your beautiful space and your nice staff but now I will give you what you deserve 1 star, and if I could give you 0 I would. Original review: The owner is a bit overbearing, he tries to take control over your event. He removed food from their original pans which resulted in all the food not being served and wasnt prepared when we arrived to set up. I would not recommend doing an event at this venue. It is a nice space but owner is too pushy, and isnt as helpful as he thinks hes being. Other than that the staff is very nice and accommodating.

I went to the Hudson Candy Factory for a Halloween party recently. I had a GREAT TIME!!! The space is really beautiful. The floors look brand new and are super shiny. Plenty of room to dance. Places to sit if you needed to take a break from the action. Great stage. Great dance floor!!!! And! I left my yoga mat there, and Mike (the owner) kept it safe for me for a couple weeks until I was able to pick it up. Id say that was above and beyond! This place is a great addition to Troy. I would definitely recommend them for your next event.

What an outstanding venue! We had our company holiday party there last night and it was absolutely beautiful. The staff and team there were super friendly and accommodating, the space is incredibly beautiful and everything went off without a hitch. Excellent place, Highly recommended!!

Thank you for your input Tara. I'm sorry you didn't approve of us filming the party with you in a group of guests dancing. I have no idea who you are or what picture you are referring to but would be happy to remove any pictures that include you. Please contact us with the information that you would like removed and we will remove it immediately. I would like to inform you that the host of each and every event signs a photo release giving us permission to take photos and videos to use on our Facebook page. I'm sorry if you were not aware of that. If you had contacted us prior to leaving a negative review we would have resolved this immediately by removing anything you did not approve of. Hopefully everything else was satisfactory and you enjoyed being a guest at the event you attended.

The management films your party without consent and then posts to their facebook page. Complete violation of privacy. I don't feel comfortable after having been to the hudson candy factory and I'd like for them to take down the footage of me dancing.
