Short Version: They don't understand what customer service means. Long Version: My father passed away and I was made executor of his will. He had two accounts with Georgia United. I was told to send documentation to the operations department and they would call me as soon as that received it with instructions on how to proceed. They received those last week, but I've yet to hear anything. I called yesterday, inside of the posted hours, only to be told that I would need to speak to "Operations", but they had closed while I was on hold (apparently, they close half an hour earlier than everyone else at Georgia United). I called back today and was told that operations does not take calls from customers and the customer service representative refused to transfer me. She told me that I would have to wait until they could "get around to processing your request" but refused to try to find out when that would be. So here I am in limbo. Did they lose the information? Should I re-send it? If they have it, when will they get to it? No answers. The original person who told me they would be in touch as soon as they received the paperwork was obviously wrong. The person who said I needed to speak to operations was either not aware that they are not allowed to transfer calls to operations or the person who I spoke to today flat out lied. This type of situation is absolutely unacceptable. Whoever is in charge of customer service should probably be looking for a new job and be replaced with someone who knows that they are doing. Do yourself a favor and avoid these people at all costs.

The lady that helped me was nice but how is it that a credit union didnt approve me for a loan but the evil Wells Fargo did. It says a ton about this credit union. Dont let them pull your credit unless you have perfect credit because you will not be approved.

I have dealt with GUCU a very long while and I stay with them after moving to another state. My experience has been consistently positive. They hire sharp folk who are very good at their jobs. On one occasion, in a bizarre financial emergency I didn't see coming, they helped me out when technically they should not have. They recognized my history with them and helped out a member.

They helped me out with my first auto loan and set me up with a solid rate. They seem like a pretty solid credit union. There was quite a bit of paperwork back and forth between me, the loan agent, and the dealership but I guess thats to be expected for an first time auto loan

This has to be THE WORST customer service I've ever received - consistently. Each time I have called the "Member Care Center" the person on the other end of the phone has a smug attitude. They seem annoyed to be helping and then answer your question as if you should have already known the answer. I would suggest this credit union to no one.
