They ruined my hair color. I had previously all-over bleached my hair to a nice gold tone blonde (first time bleaching my hair ever) and wanted to go back to my natural color, brunette. The guy did the developer wrong for my roots and ended up lifting the color just enough to expose all the red tones. Then for my the bleached hair, he didn't fill with any red tones, so the ends of my hair were extremely ashy/green while my roots were extremely red. He also did a pretty bad job with the layering...they layers were very shelf-y. And to top it all off, the level he chose for all the dye was much darker than my natural hair color. I went back in for a free color correction two weeks later and while it looks better, there are blonde sections that didn't get nearly enough dye so there is still a distinct line (on the right side so now I can only part my hair on the left side & in the back middle of my hair so I can't wear my hear half up/half down) between my "roots" and the ends that were bleached. However, the girl that color corrected my hair did fix the layering, so at least I have that going for me.
Great spot. All the class and style I expect from my salon, none of the bad attitudes I've come to fear. Thanks for helping me grow my hair long in style!
When I first moved to San Francisco, I was rather concerned about finding a great salon that is not astronomically expensive, but gives quality cut and color. I selected Oxenrose because it was less expensive than other options and located in Hayes Valley, so pretty close to walk to. The ambiance in the salon is great- I loved the selection of music. It's not everyday you can listen to Bag Raiders (low key house music) and have a hot tea while getting your hair done. I got the best cut I've had in years and quality balayage hilights for just over $200 which is a great deal compared to other SF salons. I've decided to make Oxenrose my SF salon!
I got my hair done on Thursday from Shawn. I never went to him for color. I went to Joey before and he isn't at this location anymore. I came home and the front around my face was bleached which I didn't ask for. I asked for the red to be taken out. I didn't want any red. I also tried to part my hair down the middle and there is a LINE in my hair color. There is NO way I can wear my hair down straight. Photo attached. I think this is a joke. How can someone put a line in the color? It also has red and really white in the front. DO NOT GO HERE. I wasted 3.5 hours of my life here and now o have to find another place to fix it!
