My friends and I went into the restaurant because we heard it might be a good place to eat. We go in and notice there is an empty table, so we proceed to inquire about the wait to be seated. Im not sure who the gentleman was, but he was very rude and stated there is a thing called reservations. My response was that is not how you greet anyone coming into your restaurant. I immediately realized there were no African-Americans in the restaurant. I responded stating his response was very rude and we are first timers coming to the restaurant. He was not bothered by my response. I proceeded to ask is this a reservation only restaurant. There was a Caucasian acquaintance who was bothered by the gentlemans response also by the look on his face. This was my first time attempting to eat at this place. I wouldnt ever go here again. Rude and unprofessional!!!!! Those persons I know I will spread the word to them!
I always walk past this place and wanted to try somewhere new so I finally decided to stop in. The waitress there was extremely kind, opened the door for me walking in, grabbed me a menu, suggested a great dish (the stuffed chicken with goat cheese was absolutely delicious), and took my order with the swiftness and with patience. I paid and told her I would wait outside in one of the seats and hang out until my food was ready. The restaurant is pretty quiet, probably only about two full tables inside and two full tables outside. I decide to take the table in the corner while waiting. A group (and by group, I mean 3 people) came up to the owner, Mark Lahm, asking if they can eat here outside and he said of course. Then proceeds to say to me I need this table can you sit over there. I said sit where, there? He says yeah there. Super patronizing tone, in a fake friendly voice, didnt lead me to a new table just pretty much flicked me over to somewhere else, treating me as if Im just sitting there for fun and wasnt a paying customer. I would never mind switching tables especially when Im just here waiting for an order, it was the WAY he did it, aka rude, on top of the fact that there was another table wide open for them to sit at. Maybe about 25 seconds later the super sweet waitress comes and and brings me my food and I walk off. All in all, food was great, waitress super nice, its a cute little spot for sure. That man though was the perfect disappointing ending to an otherwise nice experience.
