We were sad to read your review and genuinely strive to provide superior customer service based on integrity, transparency, and communication. We apologize for any misunderstanding about the utilities but can assure you that an account was not set up in your name. We did however create accounts in our business name since you had not established landlord agreements with the utility companies. We needed power to clean carpets and get the property rent-ready for new tenants. I would like to point out that after taking over management of your property in April 2017, we placed a qualified tenant within 5 days. Upon receiving their move-out notice in May 2018, we advertised on over 50 websites and generated over 27 tenant inquiries. Most were put on a wait list until the property could be cleaned, but we did show it 7 times in 7 days while it was still occupied. Im not sure why you felt a need to list it yourself since we already had an application in hand when you terminated services on 6/5/18. Im sorry you felt nickeled and dimed with bogus fees. We dont charge fees for arranging work orders and in our industry property owners are always responsible for maintenance costs and utilities not paid by tenants. All of our vendors are carefully vetted and completed work is validated through inspection, time-stamped photos or video. All Invoices are itemized in the monthly Owner Statement available 24/7 through a secure online Owner portal. We truly did our best to maximize your investment and regret any miscommunication. Thank you for allowing us to serve you. We wish you the best with your rental property.

I honestly dont know where to begin with this property management company!!! From the very beginning, I got bogus fees charged to me and just taken out of the rent that was supposed to be paid to me, with no explanation! Had I not been looking at the amount that they sent to me the first few months, I would never have known. How do you charge me hundreds of dollars for things, and then never mention it because I gave you a deposit, and you just hope I dont notice the amount is almost at zero within the first couple months?! Then I asked to be notified of every fee being charged going forward...does that stop the erroneous fees? For a couple months, after giving hell each time because they are unwarranted fees, then they start back up! And dont try to terminate with them...nickeled and dined down to the very last minute. I somehow had to pay an activation fee for electricity plus electricity for leaving on my lights and fans overnight and you put in my name without my knowledge or permission?! You didnt list my property after the last tenants moved out, even though you had a months notice. I ended up having to lust my property myself, then, hours later you take over MY posting?! You didnt schedule cleaners for over a week after the tenants moved out, with a months notice, but showed my place to potential renter while filthy, then the cleaning company didnt do half the things they were supposed to do, and then I get a fake report of the cleaning they did! Thank goodness I had someone I know go in and take ACTUAL pictures! Oh, and then theres a key to my place that just somehow goes missing, and you dont know where it is, though you told my new realtor that you gave her all the copies of the keys?! It goes on and on! One of the most deceitful people I have ever met, and I dont believe for a minute that all those 5-Star reviews are real...not for one second! ***Update, after letting him know how dissatisfied I was, the missing key just so happened to turn up a couple hours later....someone threw it (and another realtor found) it IN THE MIDDLE OF MY FRONT PORCH!!! If this is the type of company you want handling your property, then just dont say no one warned you!! BEWARE!!! If you dont have money to just throw away for nothing, and you dont want your front door keynavailable for anyone to just walk into your house or make a random copy, go elsewhere!!! UNPROFESSIONAL, DISHONEST, DECEITFUL!!!

Thank you for your feedback. Our move-out inspection of the property showed that the parts of the home to which you made changes are in disrepair and damaged (when compared with the comprehensive Inspection report with photos just prior to your move-in.) As is written in the lease you signed, any changes to the property cannot be made without the Owner's permission - which you did not have before you made updates. Also stated in your lease is that all damages to the property that require repairs will be charged to the Tenant, and you were given a detailed deposit disposition and all invoices from vendors who had to fix the property due to the updates you made. It is important to note that our responses to your complaint filed with the BBB have all been accepted by the BBB, and the matter has been closed.

Please look elsewhere for a rental property. We were unfortunately taken by Jim and Dena and have even filed a BBB complaint. This company unfortunately preys on renters. They will bill you for charges but then refuse to give an itemized report. If you are a property owner, THESE ARE YOUR PEOPLE! They will overcharge renters and will ALWAYS be on the side of the property owner. They will also find ways to bill erroneously to help you recoup charges. Between that and the fact AZ sides with property owners, than your set. Unfortunately a lot of us are renters so these people WILL take advantage. They also do not return calls/emails very timely and will schedule vendors without telling you. So be prepared for "drop-in's" if you put in a work order. They're not supposed to but if you don't have AC, water, or other issue, you'll let them in. We did.... Please... I beg you... If you want to work with a reputable property management company, look anywhere but here.

Wes and Tara, we have responded promptly to each of your numerous complaints through social media platforms, the Better Business Bureau, email and over the phone. You have been out of the house now for almost ten months and yet continue to submit comments - adding new issues to your list of complaints each time. As we have discussed before, our move-out inspection of the property showed that the areas of the home to which you made unapproved changes are in disrepair and damaged - all quite evident when compared with the photos taken of the same areas as part of our comprehensive inspection report just prior to your move-in. The lease agreement you signed is quite clear and is intended to protect the property, its owner and the tenants. It specifies that Tenants cannot make changes to the property without the Owner's permission - which you did not have before you made updates. Also stated in your lease is that all costs associated with fixing property damages will be charged to the Tenant. Pursuant to state regulation, we gave you a detailed deposit disposition and all invoices from vendors who had to fix the property due to your updates last year. One final note: the BBB has accepted all of our responses to the complaint you filed, and the matter has been closed.

Jim and Dena are AMAZING... if your the property owner. If your renting... RUN AWAY AS FAST AS YOU CAN! We had issues where Dena would not call someone to clean up a cactus that fell which caused our elderly neighbor extreme distress because she could not get out of her driveway for over a day. Her husband just passed recently and she was extremely distraught and event tried contacting Keyrenter but she said nobody would help her. Dena finally sent someone but complained about it. That was just one such story where they don't respond. The other side of the stick is they'll schedule service and not tell you about it. We had water mitigation scheduled without our knowledge and caused a delay in out-of-town plans because they showed up un-announced. Then, they respond but are rude. We had an issue where a water pipe broke after hours and a plumber needed to be called. Jim thought he was calling the plumber but instead called me and basically cussed me out over the phone. When I told him I'm the tenant he just said to give the plumber his number. The plumber refused to call him after he heard what Jim said to me and instead reduced the fee to $300 flat so they didn't need to go through approval (anything over $300 required landlord approval). Jim/Dena ended up charging us for "yard cleanup" of $700 but never provided an itemized invoice. Just a paper with a total. But when we looked there were still weeds in the front and back yard. We submitted a BBB claim but gave up because Jim was delayed in every response and the BBB basically because an intermediary. Jim/Dena would not do anything to rectify so I dismissed the claim because it wasn't worth it and the BBB can't force them to rectify. It was pointless and a waste of time, but I do believe in the power of reviews. Overall, I've rented plenty of places and these people are horrible. We painted and had upgrades installed knowing we wouldn't get money back because it's listed in the lease (please read it before signing, it's not the same as any other I've ever seen). After we moved out, they advertised our 4 year old paint as "new", installed new carpet (which we asked for but never got), and then they raised the rent by $800. This company is a franchise so there's your first clue to walk away. Then there's Jim/Dena who can't be professional and will basically lie to your face. I had to go to an email-only communication so I could hold them to their word, which I would HIGHLY recommend anyone that deals with these people do. The housing market is leaning more towards renters now so shop around. And if there is absolutely no other property around, get a motel room. Whatever you do... don't rent from Jim/Dena at keyrenter. EVER. you have been warned....
