Horrible experience, utterly unprofessional, and completely unethical business practices. I brought my computer in and paid for an initial diagnostic test to recover my data. Once they ran the test they quoted me between $2500-$3500 and never planned on telling me that if they do recover the data I would probably have to buy a new computer on top of the data recovery. Not to mention that when I decided not to get my data recovered through them they wouldnt even tell me what it was they discovered through the diagnostic test. Look elsewhere.
It took about 3~4 weeks for diagnosis after shipping. Charged me $ 17500 for their R&D and recovery which might take additional at least 2 weeks. I couldn't wait anymore and asked them to return my hard drive. Then they suggested $ 12500 of discount. I just asked them to return. The returning procedure took about two weeks. No, actually I am still waiting for cables which they forgot to ship. They said free diagnosis if they cannot fix it, but that's not for my case. The hard drive was poorly assembled after their diagnosis. I suspect that they are professional company.

First, I got my data back. They did what they set out to do. But! Communication was difficult with the company. Maybe it was the holidays, but I paid $1,300 for recovery+drive and I would like it if someone answers the door, or has other methods of communication present. Or when I respond to their online system to call me, I'd expect a call. Or when their automated text says you can reply to this text, and I do, I'd expect a reply. Or when I place in the notes that I need it shipped to a different address I'd expect that to be confirmed the first time and not take 3 different tries. I dropped off in Pasadena CA, then I was shipped a new drive from Canada?? I don't know how that worked out but it didn't make me feel very comfortable about the process. I was frustrated and anxious about the recovery process and their communication did not help that _at all_. But they did recover the data, but I'm not sure if I would use them again. YMMV
