EDIT: READ FULL REVIEW We are very pleased with the product that Nest has built. They use high quality items and dont skimp like other home builders. We live in the Mooresville Creek Stone sub division. The Builder Ron has been nothing but awesome all around. He is always on top of everything, and will fix your issues in a reasonable time period. He will address all your concerns and make sure you are happy with everything. We are very lucky to have found Nest Homes and even luckier to have a great guy like Ron in charge of our neighborhood. We highly recommend this builder and look forward to seeing more of their communities. Edit: we initially were very impressed with Nest Homes, but after living in the house for ALMOST TWO years we can no longer recommend them. We had a few hiccups during the building process that ended up costing us more money and some items that were mis document that had resulted in us not being able to get exactly what we wanted. These were not necessarily small items either. They were cabinet color, extended kitchen island, our carpet was a completely different color. But we over looked these items as our house was still beautiful and we were excited to get in. At the one year mark, we developed a list of items for warranty work that needed to be completed. A lot are relatively small items, but some were more serious. We have mismatched trim pieces, hardwood floors peeling up, shingles coming off the house, over 1500...yes 1500 ( I counted them) nail pops in our drywall, corner beads peeling off drywall, our front door started to fall apart, hose bibs fell off or didnt work, dishwasher caught fire.... let that sink in... it actually caught fire!, splinters in hands and feet from flooring, interior doors not closing and latching, unpainted exterior panels (took over a year to get painted) windows not closing properly, loose bathroom fixtures ( I just fixed all those myself after we moved in) cracked grout in tile, and more items I cant think of off the top of my head. They have come to fix a few of the items but at the time of this review we are still waiting for stuff to be fixed. We have been waiting over 10 months to get some of these small simple items to be fixed. I can do some of them myself, but I feel I shouldnt have to do this if its under warranty. I shouldnt have to pay for material costs myself. I have emailed them on almost a weekly basis to have these items done, but all I ever hear back is Ill look into it or They havent called you back yet? Nest makes a beautiful house, but it seems that these houses cannot withstand normal wear and tare of a family. My wife and I shouldnt be discussing having to buy all new floors in our brand new home that isnt even 2 years old yet. Our 15month old child has to wear shoes constantly due to getting splinters in his feet. I hope this will bring awareness to some potential home buyers and ultimately the builder to help bring more awareness to the problem. We really liked Nest when we moved in. We even helped the company out by allowing multiple potential new buyers to tour our home. I feel the way they have treated us with the warranty has been a slap in the face. I will do my best to attach pictures of the items so everyone can see what we have had to deal with during the first 1- 1 1/2 of living in our new home. Please read the other comments, because we are not the only ones and many of our neighbors have had similar problems
Nest refuses to sell me the lot next to my home with a large oak tree that hangs over my carport. The lot is 45ft wide and not buildable and they continue to lie. They also repeatedly ignore my requests and have my comments deleted.
We were initially going to build on another lot and had a similar experience as we've seen in some other reviews. Initially we felt as if our money was taken and no one was really reaching out with us with any progress. But, we LOVED the nest homes that we saw and we loved the neighborhood that we wanted to be in. So we were torn, but decided to back out of our contract. Not 72 hours later, we had heard of the house that we initially had our eyes on becoming available. The house we wanted in the neighborhood that we wanted. We offered on it immediately. Our offer was accepted and we were introduced to Matt Varney, our project manager. From our first conversation, I immediately felt HEARD and listened to. He was willing and able to make changes in the new construction process despite how advanced it was. He completely redeemed the experience that we were having. I always tell Matt, I do not envy his job. It's certainly not easy to make all of these changes that we all request and to coordinate with as many people as it takes nowadays to build a home. But Matt makes it happen. We appreciate how much he has done for us and how much he has done for our family. The Smiths are grateful for Mr. Matt. (as our little guy knows him)
Matt Varney was just plain the best!! We could not have had a better experience than this building a house. We have a absolutely beautiful home that wreaks with quality amenities !! Even the owner Zeno came out multiple times to make sure we were happy!! If your building a house in this area you are doing yourself a disservice by not calling Nest Homes!! Tell them the Shaffer's sent you!! and ask for Matt Varney to build it!!!!! Thanks Nest .......We love you guys. Hal and Courtney Shaffer!
Called them many times, they never pick up Calls!! Very unprofessional.
